Hope this helps. i will never condemn a person who is asking for a little help, sometimes people need to be babied along until they get the gumption to get up and get a job. i remember being homeless, during el nino, and people treating me like dirt because i needed a little change for a cup of coffee, telling me to get a job, when i already had one, but my wallet got stolen along with my tent and sleeping bag. all i needed was a buck fifty for a fast cup from the roaster, and maybe a smoke, before i went and dug ditches for money. but no....it was much easier for people to judge me as a piece of crap, and not have any compassion. yeah that morning i cussed more than one person out. don't judge aman until you hae walked a mile in his shoes. you don't know what that homeless man did, he could have been a veteran of a foreign war, served his country... or maybe they have a hidden disability, but to you they are just scum, because they want a smoke, or some change, or leftovers... it sounds like you think the worst of people, when you should try to find the best in them

I've left a very large trail of people that I have genuinely helped. Friends AND family, AND charitable contributions.Ask anyone that knows me personally. I prefer not to make that information public. I didn't do that for the notoriety that it brings. That's part of what I find so irritating about you and your parasitic vagrants. AFTER I have done MORE than my share of generous contribution, AFTER I have endlessly paid into various systems to help the less fortunate(or motivation impaired), I still can barely go out in public without some lowlife deciding they're entitled to MY rewards of MY labors. You're pathetic HYPOCRISY has once again reared it's big, ugly head. Did you tell your trust-fund-multi-millionaire crapsack boyfriend the same thing????? The walking, talking rectal polyp that just COST the Santa Cruz taxpayers SIX FIGURES for his moronic Nazi salute stunt????? Oh yes, a cheap bucket of soup that he passed out makes it all fine and dandy.

I still could If I wanted to. I made the choice to not exercise that option. I chose to try to WORK my way out of the unfortunate circumstance that I had put myself into.

If you don't have a job, can't sell crafts because to do that you need a $135/yr business license, then your only option becomes begging. see: SOURCES OF INCOME page 39 found at: http://www.appliedsurveyresearch.org/projects... Your claim that you are "not anti-homeless" while you support laws which criminalize sleeping at night, criminalize covering up with a blanket with which to keep warm, criminalize begging within 50' of a change machine, 14' from a building, and at all at night! Which criminalize begging within 10' feet of a statue (that is FOR SALE on public property!!) You call those people "bums" and then tell us you are not "anti-homeless?" As usual, BJ hasn't "read" Xanthippe's post not does she understand the point Xanthippe is making. BJ is only concerned about her spin.

I can be walking up the street carrying four bags of groceries and they will stand right in front of me expecting me to put the bags down and sign their petition, or whatever they're doing. And then there are those FAMILIES who see me, with four bags of groceries, use the disabled door opener and knock me out of the way as they race through the open door.

I avoid going downtown, because of the number of incidents where I have had one of your parasites step in front of me and demand that I give them money. Of course it's illegal under the City ordinances, especially after dark. But it happens anyway. Smoking meth is illegal too. Does that mean it never happens in Santa Cruz? What do I have to do? Act like the town crackpot does and carry a video camera everywhere? It's a waste of time, because you've already decided that what I've experienced firsthand didn't happen. Tell us my chubsie wubsie penpal, how did you get sooooo powerful, that you can impose your retroactive denial on my experiences, that you did not witness. It's amazing how you can re-write my personal history

I suspect that the panhandlers who "curse" you and spit in your direction, do so right after you called them "parasitic bums." How could I have called them A "parasitic bum", If I ignored them????? Duhhhhh. You really don't connect the dots like a normal person. Even someone who's "farther ahead academically" than a Constitutional Law scholar(with a J.D.) could figure THAT one out.

But the reason that they won't is because they have seen that I support Israel. They don't. They are officially an Israel-bashing site. They do not want to give me any more credence.

Becky Johnson wrote: Have FAT PEOPLE ever cursed in your direction or tried to spit on you as well? Yes. In the parking lot of the Safeway on Morrisey. One of your beloved bums was trying to intimidate a middle-aged woman into giving him her money. He crossed the line between begging and bullying. After she told him no, he stepped towards her in a very aggressive manner, and said "C'mon lady, I know you can afford it" I told him to "back off, and leave her alone", and he started to curse me out. I told him he was "too fat to be starving" I wound up chasing him out of the parking lot with the "club lock" bar for my steering wheel. Unfortunately I was wearing heavy steel-toe work boots, so I couldn't catch him.
