Watsonville house fire leaves one dead

What sort of descriptions are "An early morning fire torched" and "after firefighters knocked down a blaze"?

and to think that cops dont go to fire calls. the cops are usually the first to get to the calls and they try to do whatever they can.... we as citizens need to be grateful of the services the police provides to us. ya the fire department are seen as the heroes but the real heroes are the men and women who wear the badge and risk their lives for strangers.. fire fighters well they risk their lives too but not as often as the cops do... hurray for the police officers you all do a great job !!!!!!

Its fire department lingo. When you knock down a fire it means you get a handle on it and beat back the flames. Your to lame to understand it. Go back to sitting at your desk job you fat slob and give the writer a break.

Candles or cigs caused fire? What, no electricity or Smoke Alarm? Was this another Section 8 Housing fiasco or are we just showing our propensity to fall backwards into third world country human disasters?

I can't believe what you people write here!!! Don't you have anything better to do that sit here and talk crap about someone's death...I personally know this woman. She was 31 and a mother of 2!! No this wasn't a section 8 home no no no to all your pathetic speculations!! Talk about third world.. We can't even be sympathetic and think to ourselves that this was someone’s Daughter..Sister..Niece..Mothe r..We look at all the negative things rather than sit back and realize that life is short and her death is just another confirmation to this fact!! You are all in my prayers but more so are the loved ones that she is leaving behind!!!

I live three blocks from the fire and saw and heard the fire engines in the middle of the night. The smoke and flames were a horrible site to see. My deepest condolences to the family.

Born is the USA!!! She was NOT a MEXICAN not that her race should be an issue or your buisness but if you had any idea to the reality of whom this woman was you would be hand delivered your pathetic words to have forced down your throat!!!

oh come on people; a person died in an accidental late night fire despite valiant efforts to save her -- please try to show a little respect for all involved... just because you can comment on here doesn't mean you have to offer up every little tiny thought that crosses your narrow mind. my condolences to the friends and family of this woman.

This is one of the worst tragedies that a mother will ever have to deal with. I knew this woman, her children, her brother and her parents. They are all really decent hard working folk. This woman was an amazing athlete and full of life and planning on doing and doing great things with her life. We never know when our time will come, so I advise each and every one of you to be grateful for the people you have in your life that care about you and pay them respect and honor. Try and live your life with honor as well. Some of these comments on here are outrageous and go to the lowest common demoninator of humankind. Please try and refrain from making such insulting and demeaning remarks and show respect for yourself.

My heart is broken over this tragic loss. She could have been my daughter. I don't know how this family can ever recover from such an unfortunate accident.

Just to let you know this is the deseased husband and I would appreciate it if all of you would have some respect and dignity and not talk crap about this. She was a great person a great wife and a great mother. So please stop the crap and have some respect for yourself and others.

Don't assume if you don't know the facts. And she will be missed very much. She is survived by two daughters, mother and father,brother and husband. And a lot of very great friends which she adored.

Well, you sound like a friendly ghost. We have some not so friendly things happening here in our most wonderful spot on earth, the Monterey Peninsula. It seems there are Terrorists from Mexico who's parents have been working so hard they have forgotten about their children and the parents are not raising them as well as they could because they are working so hard.
