Sanctuary city...I thinx RWC has more mexicans than ol TJ...but god bless them...how about gettn em legal, some real progress, a citizen to the tax base, hard workers who need a helping hand, get them documented, it should not be so difficult...better than the alternative I think...

It would be nice to know if the victims were citizens, documented immigrants or illegal immigrants! Hopefully, the police will let us know their status and once this triple homicide is solved, we need the same information reported about the status of the suspects!

For now, it is important to enforce our immigration laws, conduct gang suppression enforcement, remove the status of Redwood City as a Sanctuary City, and revoke the business licenses of employers who hire illegal immigrants or immigrants that do no have work permits.

It would be a poor alternative to grant another "wholesale" Amnesty program that "fathered in" 6 million undocumented immigrants in 1986 only to have 12-20 million undocumented immigrants today. Yes, a guest workers program leading to citizenship would be desirable, but get in line with others who are seeking work or immigration status.

The gang problems are growing each day here in RWC. Just the other day in broad daylight, several young men shot into a mustang that had been "harassing" them. This was right in front of Taft Elementary. Children were all about the area. And all lines to 911 were busy. It took four minutes to get through to the police. And per the neighbors, police never did come out. I can't believe that but that is what all of those home at that time told me. And despite threats of returning to the neighborhood that evening by some of the gang members (luckily it did not happen) to get even, I did NOT see a police presence in the neighborhood once that night.
Last Thursday night, three M-80s were set off, once again at Taft Elementary. It took several minutes to get the police on the phone and only after the second explosion did the police come out. They were here mere minutes before driving away.
Why are they not driving by to see why cars park along the park at all hours and the passengers get out and "talk" to other passengers who also park at the same time in the neighborhood. It is so obvious that something such as drug deals are going down. Do the police do drive-bys? No.
The details on this triple murder are too vague to say much right now but it is hard to imagine given the changes in the city that it is not gang related. This has to be addressed before innocent people are caught in this violence.
How lucky were we that none of the neighborhood children were hurt the other day! All of our neighborhoods need help but with this crap happening right in front of an elementary school, there should be extra attention paid to the area around 8th and Bay. Our children and our neighbors deserve to live without fear!
I don't care if these men (and women) are legal residents or illegal residents. I care that what they are doing is illegal. That is what matters. And from what I have seen it is a mix of both. So lets focus on stopping the violence no matter the immigration status of the offenders.

Where are the police! I want to see them PROACTIVELY dealing with the situations. They know even better than us where the troublemakers live. So fix it!

To Jack, Bubba, and all the other deadbeats inhabiting this blog. This killing did not take place in RWC, it was in NOrth Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area run by San Mateo County. So take your racist blatherings to the County, RWC has zero authority over North Fair Oaks. For such a know it all Jack I am surprised this one slipped by you, but then you never leave your house so how would you know?

Why is this racist? It is a fact that RWC and unincorporated RWC (North Fair Oaks) are full of illegals, largely from the state of Michoacan. Legal or illegal, they are still dead, and there are still killers on the loose. If you think the mention of the word "Mexican" is racist, we will never get anywhere. You think it is getting violent here? Look south of the border? Police chiefs trying to get political asylum in the US, cartel wars, torture and killing on a scale unheard of in a civilized country. Read the San Diego Times for further. The violence is going to come north...this is just the begining. Oh...and I do not think this is race or gang based...this is all about dope and money. Google "Zetas" for a real scare.

good for you !! But for me, calling the RCPD was futile. About the same with the enforcement dept. But keep up the good work. Stay away from Taft school area in the evenings and late at night !!!

One call usually wont do it...they need to hear it from as many neighbors as you can possibly involve, and keep on it....results will come. Involving people is hard, some just dont want to....but, when it starts affecting your quiet way of life you get pissed off, all of us did.....keep a log of daily activities around your area, take pics if you can....communicate regularly with your neighbors.

I could not communicate with my neighbors as most were illegal or sanctuary babies, and hardly any spoke english. So we moved to the beautiful mountains of northern idaho, the sandpoint area. what a relief being gone from tortilla flats. I still visit from time to time and keep an eye on things, such as rentals

I have lived in RWC all my life. The last 19 have been spent on Roosevelt Ave. This area was really nice at one time. If you notice the closer you get to El Camino the worse it is. That's not just Roosevelt, it's Adams, Vera, Madison streets were so well kept and nice. Go there now!! thousands of Mexicans running around with their old mattress lying in drive way. 100 kids running around. It looks worse than TJ. If fact, Independence street in TJ looks just like El Camino from Roosevelt to Middlefield. RWC needs to clean this shit up. These Mexicans are sucking up all the resources and putting a huge burden on schools, hospitals, housing etc. I don't care that there here, but start collecting taxes from these ass holes. They can't pay for their apts, and feed their 100 kids and say they have no money!! Find or track their money down and tax them so we can stop this abuse. I think it would be quite simple, stand in front of Western Union where they wire their money home after working under the table at the construction sites and other jobs they work at. Go a head and call me an ass hole too that's fine, but when I'm shopping at Safeway and see Mexican women hand over welfare food stamps and put the receipt's in her bag where she has a stack of 100 bills that she stuffs down so checker can not see that's where I lose my mind. Oh yeah one more thing, start passing out corks to these Mexican women, it's unbelievable how they walk around the area knocked up with 7 small children clinging to them and pushing a stroller. What the hell do they not understand. Then we have to education those kids but it's sort of a waste I think when they come from idiot parents.

Good observations, and another one to open peoples eyes to this growing problem is all the knocked up ones with strollers full of children going into the Middlefield Road Fair Oaks Free Clinic for pre-natel care, its unbeleivable....dont believe me take a look for yourself....all on the taxpayers tab.......

i don't blame poor people for trying to make a better life for themselves, i would try to do the same. but i have lived in redwood city for 35 years, and mostly in north fairoaks, and stanford ave. i have seen that poor neighborhood go down bigtime, people living on top of people, no place to park, drug activity, gang activity, and the governing body (county of san mateo),seen not to give a Xhit at all.

here visiting, and bought computer in belmont...if that is what you think of Idaho that is great. not true but it keeps us from being inundated like Redwood City has been. This city is in an epidemic. I just saw a mexican woman walking by with 5 kids, 2 in a stroller and she has a bun in the oven !! All the kids were unkempt and speaking spanish. What a drain on the few taxpayers left in RC
