Perhaps he was involved in the protests when the dumb ND administration gave Obama an honorary degree...and that got him in hot water with the school's officials.

LOL I think it may have been the fact that he was adhering to a more pagan tradition and he was caught sacrificing some virgins.

Awesome news. Fauria will be a great addition to the team, to replace Logan Paulsen once he leaves to the NFL.

So you're not the least bit concerned about what "off-field" issues would cause Notre Dame to suspend him from playing for an ENTIRE season?

And he continues to refer to UCLA as his "2nd choice" rather than saying "this is where I belonged all along" or something along those lines. If I were a UCLA fan, I would be concerned.

My Response:
I don't know what those "off the field" issues are...but what I do know is that ND runs a very tight ship...almost zero tolerance, and many things that the rest of the programs around the country find acceptable, at ND are NOT.

You know as well as I do that players love to party, having myspace and FB I see that they are very open about what they like to do, I see beer in their hands in photos everywhere, at ND this is NOT acceptable.

I applaud ND for their stance, and I wish every program around the country would mirror ND's but that's not happening anytime soon, as MOST programs concern themselves with only winning, while at ND it goes deeper than Wins and Losses on the grid-iron. That's what makes ND the greatest football program with the richest football tradition of all time,FACT!

Exhibit A: http://deadspin.com/5033265/jimmy-clausens-dr...
Picture of an underage Jimmy Clausen and a cup of.... something possibly amber in color, and I doubt that's apple juice in his sippy cup. Oh, and that was his 2nd alcohol-related offense. I wouldn't paint ND as being very strict or alcohol intolerant. Now, I don't recall Jimmy C getting suspended for either indiscretion, so, I doubt Fauria's offense was similar in nature. I'm no prude (I'm an SC fan, after all), so I don't think Clausen deserved to be suspended. Just wondering what it was that Fauria did to warrant suspension. The fact that he himself hasn't said what it was infers (to me, at least) that it wasn't something silly, like smoking a joint or getting drunk, since he would have probably already admitted that. A suspension for an entire season is serious, dude, regardless of strictness of policy at the school.

Yeah, you're right about that...we'll wait and see. But if it was something serious, like a crime I'm sure we would know about it. My guess is he probably got caught cheating on a test, or something like that.

A few years back (10) at Bishop Amat there was a fine QB by the name of Chris Rix that was being billed as the best QB at Amat since Pat Haden, and he got caught cheating on his test and he was immediately kicked out of school and ended up transferring to Rancho Santa Margarita for his senior year, and this is after he was already verbally committed to Florida State...my point? ND being a catholic institution may have zero tolerance towards this kind of stuff, while other schools just slap you on the writs ND gives you the boot or hands a one year suspension. That's what I'm thinking.

LOL, the guy writing the article hit right on the button. On myspace and FB just about every player that I've seen has at least one picture chugging down a beer and some are even doing a beer-bong...or worse.

Jesus forgives but not N.D. wonder what the Pope thinks about this? I guess Catholic's are the only perfect people.N.D. has been over rated for 40 years they get the pick of the litter every year and do nothing with it. Joe welcome to the not so perfect BRUINS.
