...and it seems that people in Illinois are wimps when it comes to corrupt politics, for they foolishly continue to vote for such low-life candidates. I know that you'll likely answer in angry protest to this comment, but that kind of response WILL NOT do anything to cleanse the filthiness out of Illinois politics, which are far dirtier than those in California.

I would check all the homeless camps that come into pacifica and think they can live on the golf course because it is sf prop. I know for a fact that they harass pacificans and tell pacificans to get out because it is sf owned. This is something fairly new that has been developing over the years once the stink about getting rid of our golf course started to become vocal. Pacifica needs to somehow buy this property so we can police it and kick those s.f. antarchists out!

I grew up in Pacifica and was just down there touring the castle on the 14th. Then not only a week later this woman is found dead. I cannot go down to Pacifica without thinking of my classmate Ronnie Casio that was also found dead on the golf course. She was killed by a serial killer I believe. That was NEVER solved and it still sickens me to think of that teenage girls death. I hope the police find out what happened with this lady and also that the autopsy findings are reported on in this newspaper. I hate it when something like this is initially reported and then NO FOLLOW UP! Please TRIBUNE let us know what the outcome is.

I went to school with Ronnie Casio as well! She was a classmate of mine at Westview and Oceana. I still remember the shock of hearing of her death. She was killed right about the same time as Tanya Blackwell, and I think at one time they thought that it may have been Henry Lee Lucas.

I have been noticing many of these young homeless types hanging out in San Pedro Park as well. They are not from here and use the park as their bathroom and drug center.They are very scary looking and hike up in the mountains and camp. If I fart in a park a whiny Pacifican complains but a freak uses our parks as their bathroom and home and nothing is done. I really hate these unwritten rules.

Don't you all know that there is no such thing as "homeless" in the People's Republic of Pacifica. These individuals you are referring to are simply residing in sustainable, low cost, native human habitat restorational domiciles. These, of course, do not require the capital and resources of those "scum of the earth" developers we all hate so much here in The Republic.

As Pacifica's A-Number One vagabond/hobo/bum/homeless person, I take great exception to some of the comments on this thread.

Also, I'm sick of those of you who keep putting down my adopted home town of Pacifica. What other city would give a homeless person a prominent position on their Planning Commission? Fox guarding the hen house, you say? Nonsense...

To Lorrie;

Thank you for your post. All these years I think of Ronnie and wish something could have solved her case. I'm glad she is remembered. I went to school with her at Thornton. My first job was at the golf course. I remember 2 men coming in to the cafe and getting change from me to use the pay phone. They were always suspects to me as they didn't fit in with the golf crowd. But all these years later the information doesn't seem to help. I didn't know about other women although my sister says there were others. I thought maybe it was Kenneth Bianci and his uncle as the 2 men resembled them. But I've been told that may not be possible as it was before their time. Either way I went to her memorial and still remember it with a heavy heart. She will always remain a sweet friend to me.

I was at her memorial as well - Good Shepherd Church on Oceana Blvd, if I remember correctly.
I was looking at my kindergarten class picture not too long ago, and there she was, practically smack dab in the middle of the photo looking back at me. The reason I mentioned Henry Lee Lucas was because I remember that years and years ago, they were allowing HLL to speak with law officials from different cities regarding unsolved murders in their areas. Supposedly, he was in the Bay Area during Ronnie and Tanya's murders.(Tanya's body was found off Sharp Park Blvd). Due to the number of law officials, and time constraints, the Pacifica Police were not able to interview him, so nothing was ever confirmed.
I am glad that there is someone else out there remembering Ronnie as well. We grew apart during grade school and then found each other again at Oceana in our freshman year, and then lost touch again. I would love to see this "cold case" resolved and justice being served.

I have a solution to the Pacifica homeless problem. What say we build some bunk beds right under the stage that is being erected at the biodiesel refinery/amphitheater for Nancy Hall and the Curios? When the refinery is off-line we can alternate between whiny Neil Young music and snoring hobos.

To Lorrie;

Yes, it was Good Shepard Church. There were a lot of us kids in a long line. It seems like I remember a Lorrie C. but I'm not sure. I went to Pacific Manor though so maybe its another girl I'm remembering. I cannot believe the police did not pursue an interview with HLL if there was any chance. I do know there was some news reports of possible suspects that went nowhere. And I understand there is no cold case units to continue investigating. I hope the TRIBUNE reads these comments and follows up with readers about the current case and any others the public should know about.

Excellent point 48YR! It seems that ALL of our City employees are incapable of doing the job they are paid to do (and paid mighty handsomely, I might add) and that we are always forced to hire consultants or outsource to get anything done around here. This problem is pervasive through all City departments and services, with the biggest offender being the City Attorney's office. The time has come when we should seriously consider wiping the slate clean of City employees (that means "firing all" for those of you in Linda Mar) and contracting out 100 percent of the necessary functions. This may be the only way to get something accomplished with some degree of accountability, as well as getting us out from under the horrible PERS albatross that is circling Pacifica.

I sent Ms. Larsen, the editor of the Tribune, an e-mail requesting a follow up on this article as the comments here and my own concerns about this case do not seem to be addressed by the police or the Tribune. my e-mail to the editor stated in part:

"I keep reading the online version of the Tribune hoping you would publish the autopsy report or follow up on the story about the woman found at the golf course.  I read the comments posted and I think most people want to know if the police are calling this a homicide.

As I don't live in Pacifica anymore I can't see subscribing to a newspaper so I don't know if I'm missing the article or if it never was done.  At any rate, the comments about the police and the city of Pacifica are not very encouraging.  Do you ever print any articles addressing these concerns, or is it the policy of the Tribune not to do stories that might call into question any controversial issues involving the police or city departments?

Please do a follow up story on the woman recently found at the golf course.  I don't want to seem critical of the newspaper, but really in this day and age the public expects more from a city the size of Pacifica and the only source of news like the Tribune."

If the citizens of Pacifica and other interested parties feel the same I encourage you to start a dialogue about your concerns. How can the community be effective by just posting and not following up on it? Take a moment to do one thing to effect change.
