When pro golfer Tripp Isenhour lost his temper and beaned a shrieking hawk in December, he might have thought the incident, like the bird, was dead and buried.

Don it was a protected bird on, and it was not a mistake...the article says he intended to hit the bird...you must be a golfer yourself...I say punish him.

These comments give great insight into the mindlessness that plagues society. You all should be tied to trees while others try to hit you with golf balls.

Golfing is one of the most detrimental sports to our environment already, requiring huge tracts of developed land and continuous use of harsh pesticides to keep the greens so nice.

Driving around in your lazy-mobiles (read: golf carts) and killing off the rest of the natural world around you is just second on the list then, eh?

And these are the people being paid the money to play sports.

"Isenhour, who earned $471,000 last year...."

As golfer I would assume being outdoors would make you immune to the sounds of nature, zen like. But apparently not, so I'll be he'll use some of the way-over-paid money he has to clear it up.

If at all possible, he should go to jail, just for the sake of being a real person and not a sports star, regardless of ranking...

I think this should be taken to congress. We need to waste as much tax money as possible (no offense Mr. Clemens). What are the odds of hitting the bird? Must be steroids!!!

wow...

Orlando Homegrown & Ridiculous, how much an idiot can you be to bring up abortion in a topic like this?!

I guess some people will take any chance they get to try and get a point across, sorry to say it makes you look like more of an idiot for bringing up an irrelevant point.

Cheers to you, morons...

P.S. Typos in my first post, oops

P.P.S. Just in spite: Who cares about the unborn, the animals are already alive.

Maybe I could get him to aim at some of these sandhill cranes that are continually shrieking around my neighborhood.

Awww, he lost his little baby temper and took it out on the nature that he was supposed to be enjoying. But Its OK folks, he rescues cats from the shelter. I guess that makes it OK to be a total D***. I hope they release the tape of him losing it so we can see how to act like a professional. Professional Dewsch.

As an environmentalist AND a hard-core golfer, Isenhour's act is irredeemably stupid and unconscionable in two ways. Killing the hawk is certainly bad enough, but the incident also inflicts further lasting damage on the already horrible reputation of the game among environmentalists.

1.)$10,000.00 FINE
2.) A 2 YEAR SUSPENSION FROM THE PGA
3.) HAVING TO STAND IN A PUBLIC PLACE WITH A SIGN THAT SAYS "I AM A JACKASS WHO KILLS BIRDS WITH MY GOLF BALL & CLUB (ON WEEKENDS FOR 6 MONTHS)

PRICELESS

SOME PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF THEIR PROFESSION AND ROLE IN SOCIETY ARE JACKASSES. THIS PESON IS ONE OF THEM!

PERHAPS A TRIP TO THE "CARWASH"??

Maybe a couple of months or so of working with birds of prey at a rehabilitation center and a donation or $10,000-$20,000 (out of $471k) to the center would educate him and make him an advocate of the birds.
Sounds like a stupid fraternity stunt gone bad.
Maybe by working with people that make $15-$20K/yr. saving animals would give him some appreciation for the work that goes into protecting our environment.
I am also an advocate of trying to get golf courses to stop pumping chemicals into our drinking water table. Those courses also continue to pump our water table dry to water grass even under water rationing for drinking water.
