Part of it is the towns have all grown up along US 441, and as they expanded there's no division between them anymore.

Case in point, Casselberry vs Winter Park in Orlando proper. People in Casselberry like to say they're in WP because they know it's more prestigious and nicer. It's about respect where you're living, I suppose. So many of the central Florida towns DO have clear distinctions between them but all you see is the name change on the sign.

Case in point, Fruitland Park versus Leesburg versus Lady Lake. Used to be if you were in south Fruitland Park you were told "Leesburg" - and now the same's true in north Fruitland - you're in "Lady Lake" as The Villages have spurred the building of a Loewe's, Best Buy and all manner of higher-end retail up there. Now Fruitland Park is the " **** " or "trailer trash" part of that area you live in. Of course, if you drive 2 minutes off US 441 in either direction there, it's all the same, fields, trailer parks and retirement communities.

The Wall Mart is in Mount Dora, but you can Hardly see it from the road because of city regs. Mount Dora better? "Imitation is the best form of flattery."

It's snob appeal, period. Eustis is known for trailers, drugs, rednecks and other things like that...kinda like Bithlo. Although, has anyone seen Bithlo lately? It's gotten quite a facelift and actually came to life!

However, I do think they need to rename Sanford 'Brown Town'.

Lake County is nice. Mount Dora is a very nice to visit. I am very excited about the new Highland Street Market that is being finished there. The festivals are going to be awesome! See it at www.highlandstreetmarket.com

there are some very nice areas in Eustis and there are some trashy parts.

just like any towns or cities.

Mt Dora has areas that are just as trashy and Eustis has areas that are far nicer for a much cheaper price.

I have a Leesburg mailing address but do all of my business in the Eustis area. When people see on my business card 'Leesburg' they think I live in Leesburg, downtown Leesburg is more than 10 miles from my house. I really would prefer a Grand Island mailing address that defines where I live.

Are you kidding me? I would much rather mount Dora than a Eustis! What is a Eustis anyway?

The WPK city limit is a couple of miles west of that Costco, actually.

Give Mount Dora time...with all the 'warm, welcoming' feeling we want to convey we will go the way of Eustis before long. There are more and more "workforce housing" plans (let's get real, it is low-income housing) being brought before the city council. Yes, low wage earners need a place to live...but not at the gateway(s) to the city of Mount Dora. In fact, that's what Eustis is for.

Mt.Dora is not anybetter than Eustis or Umatilla. Eustis and Umatilla has some crappy places but so does Mt.Dora. Eustis and Umatilla also have some nice clean places.

There isn't one. It's Eustis! Actually, Eustis is pretty nice. Its Tavares that is a pit.

My wife and I have lived in Eustis for 13 years and we love it. The truth is Mount Dora, Tavares and Eustis make up one of the nicest places in Florida. These three cities should work together to promote the Golden Triangle instead of going in different directions.

Nice, if you like: lousy sewer and water with outrageous rates, a third world school system, politicians pandering to tiny groups of citizens, nothing but Red Lobster type of restaurants, rednecks, outrageous govt. fees, etc.
We lived in Lake County and opted to move to civilization...crime and all.
Lake County is the armpit of the area.
