There are many legitimate debt-collection agencies out there that comply with the law and demonstrate professionalism and respect for the rights of consumers. North Shore Agency is not one of them. They are known in the industry as bottom-feeders and are generally a disgrace. Their president is a mentally-disturbed alcoholic, who sits in his office drinking himself half-blind all day, while his staff of illiterate degenerates embarrass the industry with their illegal and unethical antics.

Located at 751 Summa Avenue, North Shore Agency Inc. is in New Cassel (Westbury P.O.).

In other words, if you want to send a letter to North Shore Agency Inc., you would address this letter to "Westbury, NY"; however, if you want to actually go to North Shore Agency Inc., you would go to Garden City.

It is important to note that New Cassel is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address.

As occurs in all but one of Nassau County's 136 communities (2 cities, 64 villages and 70 hamlets), the Hamlet of New Cassel has a different border than does the postal zone that services its area. In this case, there is no "New Cassel, NY" postal zone.

X..........acres
Hamlet of New Cassel..........956
New Cassel, NY ?????.....none

All places within the Hamlet of New Cassel are in the "Westbury, NY 11590" postal zone.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns:

I believe the person to whom "One Who Knows" refers is no longer president of NSA and hasn't been for many years, since NSA was bought by another company. I was an employee with NSA for many years and know first hand that their in-house counsel is well-versed in FDCPA rules and regulations. I don't believe this lawsuit will affect NSA much, as they have successfully fought class action suits in the past.

Should be obvious to all that "Frank Martelli" is most likely also "One Who Knows." That, or at least another fine member of the Hoyer law firm-- those guys that are more proficient at fighting their legal battles in the press and blogs than they are at compiling cohesive and accurate arguments reduced to legal papers.
If you think it's far-fetched that Hoyer and his clan would use such tactics, think about this: they are having their "private investigator" contact ex and current employees of firms they target for suit and tell them that they will pay for their testimony. Hey, Martelli and Hoyer-- ever hear of the code of ethics?

I have been getting letters from these guys for a bill that was paid in JANUARY 2008. Neither the company nor I can get them off my back. I've tried calling: the extention number is invalid. I've writted also, sending a copy of paid subcription. And they are still sending me letters! I am so over it!I just want to get off this stupid merry go round....
