In his most definitive comments to date, Jaromir Jagr said Tuesday that he would prefer to sign with the Rangers next season rather than with another NHL club and indicated that he wants to play two more years ...

It's nice to hear Jagr say the Rangers is his first choice. Haven't heard anything for sure from him.

glen sather should retire and let big red become the gm jim schonfield.if the rangers could find a defenseman with big jim competiveness we are on the positive track.we have two czechs lady bing defenseman who should not be signed .we have to get bigger on the wings.we have the coach, goalie strenght at center.we need a offensive go to wing to take the pressure off of jagr if he is resigned.the rangers are on a positive track

The power play sucks. Never seen a team so consistently NOT SHOOT THE PUCK. If they scored a few more PP goals thay would be paying Washington right now. Too many fancy dan passes and nobody crowding the net to set up screens and deflections.

Also take too many stupid penalties.

Need to get rid of too small non-hitting defensemen that can't clear the front of the net and take the pressure off Lundquist. Hey is Jeff Beukeboom still in playing shape??

Enough. This guy is finished.Barry Beck could cover him on 'D'.It's time for the NYR to dump the old men on this team and get younger! Goodbye Jagr, goodbye Straka and GOODBYE Shanahan! Where was this guy for the past two months? Give my daughter a try out. She's 14 and skated once when she was about 5.

All that we found out is the same thing as last year. We are small, we are very slow and we are not as good as we think we are. It starts with Renney, he must go. The Rangers need to get big, get faster and get meaner. When you have Crosby and Malkin taking runs at players, there is a problem.

Jagr should stay with the Rangers.
He is old and he is finished.
It is easier to play against him than an against a guy that is young and can still skate.
It will be easier to play against the Rangers with him and the rest of the senior citizens that they have.
The Penguins young legs and quickness beat the whiney old goats.
Now the old goats can go back and graze in their Garden.
Have a nice summer Ranger fans.

I disagree with Renney going, he's good with the kids.

Team does need to get bigger on the blueline. Brian Campbell would be my choice if he's available.

Gotta love how these Pen fans are coming out of the closet lately.

All of a sudden thier the annointed ones.

Nothing like building a team by sucking in the league for years.

If you do make it to the finals, you better take a good hard look at the Wings.

Maybe he just likes to make pathetic Ranger fans cry. Looks like it's working.

The best thing about it bender... Is that the loser penguin fan disregards the fact that the best player in that series wasn't st Crosby or holy malkin

Doesnt matter dude, its a team sport. takes ALL to win and the pens are moving on. Old goat jagr being the best in the series only got the rangers an earlier tee-time, nothing more.

This team needs SIZE. Prucha, Callahan, Drury, Dawes and even Avery are short and lack size. Pens team took advantage of that.
I dont see how people say this is a slow team. They have/had some damn fast skaters: Gomez, Dubi, Straka are all speedy.

Jags is out of playoffs and yet he is the leading scorer in the playoffs, pretty good for an old washed up player. Also if Crosby was in the Rangers series I missed it as he was MIA big time. At present the Pens best player is Malkin and when FA time comes along the Pens can only keep one, so who's it going to be Cindy or Malkin. I bet that Malkin is going to look good on Broadway or Detroit because as asoon as he becomes eligible for FA he is gone.

The Rangers typically have a history of keeping older, more expensive players on the roster who are past their prime. Jagr doesn't have any more upside potential than he does today. In all likelyhood Jagr will be less productive every season after this. Young dynamic players are not going to thrive and flourish when they have to grown in the shadow of an old oak.

With that said, I hope they re-sign him (and Shanny too). This will insure that they won't be competitive in the post season and Ranger fans can kiss the possibility of another cup (in their lifetime) goodbye! The curse of 1940 lives on!

Everytime I'm down or feelin' blue, all I have to do is think about the look on your expensive bench when that dynamo Hossa potted the backbreaker...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !
All better now.
