I wish in the polls they would ask a question such as "who was the first president of the US?" and tally up how many people say Lincoln or Bush or Martin Luther King...

"Sen. Obama, D-Ill., benefits from strong support from young and independent voters"

Translate as "apathetic and fickle", many of whom never actually show up on election day.

"The poll also found that 47 percent of voters in Connecticut say the economy is the most important issue"

And what is Obama saying he's going to do about the economy? Raise taxes and **** off whatever businesses remain? I can see how that would appeal to the "slacker generation".

you say 'raise taxes' like that's a bad idea. No, you're right, let's keep spending money we don't have and borrowing from the chinese. Brilliant way to go!

If we had 'truth in taxation', our tax rates would actually be lower. Without the bureaucratic mess called the IRS, we would be much better off. Everyone gets so busy with deductions, and loopholes, we don't pay nearly what our 'bracket' suggests. Those brackets just piss people off.

Nem, seriously, how can we keep going the way we are going with this massive spending and running up huge deficits???

Obama won't wear a US flag... calls that hollow patriotism, Clinton is a liar. Rock Star Obama is a very carefully crafted brand, Clinton is just carefuly "crafty". that leaves McCain

wearing a US flag can be quite cumbersome. I wouldn't fault him for THAT.

They are all bums, but McCain will win. A black or a woman will not win. Our country is not open minded enough yet. I would vote for a purple and green striped transvestite if he/she would make a good president.

i'm not ready for an AARP member to be president. Does that make me a bad person?:)

Obama will win- I think he has the best chance of anyone to get NEW voters out to the polls.

Grow up! I'm not ready for a boy scout to be seated in the oval office, having never run a darn thing in his life. Obama is a pull-string toy. The fact that he has a wide lead over McCain in CT says more about the pinheads in CT than it does about Obama. It shows that CT is a lost cause and will continue to deteriorate as our Democrat imposed debt spirals out of control, and our infrastructure crumbles while the clowns in the state legislature debate such pressing issues as gay marriage, and to lavish tax credits on their Hollywood friends.

I agree with you, but the reality is that he will probably win.

The Country would vote for Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice. The Democrats' problem is "It's the candidates, stupid!"

These poll results seem to generate ... more polls. And we've already seen in this election season just how far off the polls can be. Regardless, HRC's scorched Earth policy will bury OBH over the next few months.

Too many people are treating this election like an episode of American Idol.
We are choosing a President, not our favorite soap opera star.
How sad that the electorate has been reduced to this.
What next - do we give an Oscar to the winner?
Hopefully, the adults in this country will step to the plate and decide the matter.

It has nothing to do with being "open minded."
You answered your own question. Neither Hillary nor Obama "would make a good President."
Now Collin Powell or Condi Rice would get my vote.
But these two are phony duds who couldn't run a hotdog stand.

Looking at the big picture, have you noticed how many states run by Democrats are in debt, and have been for years?
Where is the Rust Belt? Why, it's in the North, where the Dems and their crooked Unions run every thing.
Meanwhile, the South, solid GOP, is the fasting-growing part of the country, from Georgia to Arizona.

how is this news. Connecticut is a very liberal state that would support any socialist who is running.
The real news headline is "Obama is the mainstream media's golden boy."

Polls are worthless. Evidence: Summer 2007, McCain was dead in the water as a Republican candidate for president. Now he is the party's nominee (just waiting for the officail stamp of approval at the convention). LaMont was beating Lieberman in polls, too, and we all saw how that turned out. Problem is, they don't talk to everyone; statistics don't always work for the fickle human mind, and people change their minds. In other words, polls are a big waste of time, money, and, when reporting about them, ink and air time.

Obama (and Clinton) have both advocated class-warfare type taxes on corporations as their solution to solving the nation's economy problems. That's not too smart, imnsho. True Blue Connecticut has tried that, and the corporations got ticked off and moved out of state and out of country as a consequence.

So, Censorfree, are you advocating for the Forbes "Fair Tax"? I'm listening...

There's a long time between now and the election. No one knows what will happen between now and then. There will be lots of s-h-i-t coming out on both candidates that will influence the way people vote. All states are up for grabs.
