Well, the people who are in trouble, got themselves there. Period. Now I gotta work harder than ever because my government has bailed them out. Who pays? The working stiff.

AND THE REALTORS ARE TO BLAME... No longer should anybody believe the BS that the are "Real Estate Professionals". Now they blame mortgage fraud? 1 out of 50 foreclosures are due to mortgage fraud? Buyers made negative choices? What did the sellers make, positive ones? And the real estate agents took advantage, knowing that these homes didn't appraise for the bogus values. That's why they aren't professionals.

What the HELL is Liz Caldwell's opinion worth? She says not to buy a home with power lines in the back? WELL DUH?????????? 95% of broward has powerlines in front or back or side. What the hell is she talking about?
Next thing, she will say...Don't buy a house without a curb. Or, don't buy a house with trees on the property. She must be a northern newbie or maybe from California. |

I just looked it up. Liz Caldwell lives in Weston. No wonder she mad eht "powerline" statement. She doesn't live in the real world of Fort Lauderdale. Weston, since it is a new community has buried powerlines.
I guess what she is trying to say is move to weston. Sounds like she is trying to get some business. Good luck LIZ! You state "location Location, Location!" Yeah, like weston is close to the beach or anything except Alligator alley.Nest time you guys do an interview on FORT Lauderdale, DON'T interview a Weston resident! |

At the bottom of the story Caldwell says not to buy the house if it has powerlines behind it even if it is free. Why that statement? Some one with the knowledge please explain.

The comment about power lines was really a statement that no matter how good a deal is even in this market it is still important to fully evaluate all of the pro's and con's of any poperty that someone may be considering buying. To answer Heribertos question, it has been suggested that living near powerlines may be a possible cause of cancer and leukemia in children. I had seen a story on one of the news magazines and what they were focusing on was not the overhead power lines we have here in Ft Lauderdale connecting our houses to to FPL but the High tension power lines that carry a tremendous amount of voltage. Hope this was helful.

Two forces at work: 1, people buying more house than they could afford; 2, speculators driving up the prices anticipating a big pay-off on a flip then getting caught in the market too long.
Neither problem should be addressed by a 'bailout' from the government. If you're going to play with the big dogs, prepare to get bitten. Little Donald Trump wannabees. |
