To corroborate your logic here is that my wife and I as well as the rest of our family are staunch advocates of traditional unions: husband and wife. The Bible mentions Adam and Eve. Case in point. That is not just a legal rule. It is a cardinal rule. Legal rules get broken but cardinal rules always stand and are forever in anything and everything.

Because this is a SECULAR country.. thats why.. there are millions in this country that will NEVER live by your biblical rules!
I put my life on the line for my constitution, not your bible.. I will NEVER put my life on the line for that.

Religious beliefs are for the individual to keep for themselves. They have no place in secular law.

I agree. Everybody doesn't have the same beliefs or follow the same faith. Laws that affect the whole collective population should have nothing to do with religion or religious ideals.

The number of young homosexual men being newly diagnosed with HIV infection is rising by 12 percent a year, with the steepest upward trend in young black men, according to a new report.

The double-digit increase in young gay men is about 10 times higher than in the homosexual community overall, where the number of new infections is going up about 1.5 percent a year.

The report, released yesterday by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, appears to confirm impressions that a "second-wave" AIDS epidemic is underway in gay America.

Religious: "Thou shalt not kill".

Secular: Murder is a capital offense, a crime.

See how that works? Looks like Religion does indeed have a place in secular law, otherwise there would be no moral obligation to respect the rights of others. That being said, our Government does not recognize any one religion over another.

Because he apparently believes that there is separation of church and state and knows that as a representative of the people he represents all people, not just the ones that live as he feels they should based on his faith. In other words he is practicing his faith because Jesus said "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's". So in fact he is proving not only to be a good American he is also proving he is a good christian.

Many should learn from him if they want America to remain free and what to be good christians.

Religion didn't create morality. Morality is a part of human nature just as immorality is. If religion never existed murder would still be wrong today. Rape would still be wrong. Pedophilia would still be wrong. There is a huge difference between religious morality and basic human morality.

I don't know why we have to keep going over this. There are thousands of religions in the world, with varying beliefs about many things. You do not get to rule this country based on YOUR religion. If you cannot fathom why this should be, read this quote from Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris:

"Consider: every devout Muslim has the same reasons for being a Muslim that you have for being a Christian. And yet you do not find their reasons compelling. The Koran repeatedly declares that it is the perfect word of the creator of the universe. Muslims believe this as fully as you believe the Bible's account of itself. Muhammad assured his followers that Jesus was not divine, and that anyone who believes otherwise will spend eternity in hell. Muslims are certain that Muhammad's opinion on this subject is infallible. Why don't you lose sleep over whether to convert to Islam?"

Democratic leaders did not count all Democrats votes and distributed delegates and super delegates at will.

Talk about no moral obligation to respect the rights of others!

You mean murder was fine before the 10 commandments? Does it also mean that those non christian nations think murder is legal?

How is he racist? He didn't say anything racist about Obama. Why is it that when anybody says something negative about Obama or his policies they are deemed racist? You don't even know the commenter's race yourself.

Castle in the air sounds like one of Obama's cumbiya supporters so when he lies or misrepresents the truth they will call it something else or make up an excuse for him. Obama is pretty good at slithering out of any problems that come his way, I'll give him that!!
