TREATMENT programs for violent sex offenders? The only "treatment" I would prescribe would be the death penalty, and then carry it out in a timely manner. Has anyone besides myself noticed that since we started treating the criminals as victims, that the crime rate in this country has skyrocketed? Disgusting.

I've noticed, sadly too many people don't. Too many bleeding heart liberals nowadays. I agree with you though, it's called the 5 cent solution.

The only treatment needed is castration and locked away for life!

Criminal drivers on the highways are a far bigger threat to kids than sex offenders but you don't care about that because YOU are one of them. Would you support a law that said anyone found at fault in a crash that injured a child must do a minimum of 5 years (20 years if the kid dies)?? I didn't think so.

A $62 million-dollar facility???!!! Did anyone else notice the price tag on a center which is a complete waste of time and effort? That money would be better spent on something else, like feeding the homeless. These sexually violent people will never be treated...that is a fasad. These criminals should be given the death penalty...and quickly! While on death row, I'd support allowing them to borrow a Bible (so they can get to know their Maker prior to meeting Him). Once they're dead, just pass the scripture to the next one "on deck". I know that sounds cruel to some; but, our country is suffering financially with many people unable to put food on the table or a roof over their family's head...and, I get unnerved when I read about how the officials waste a ton of money on pointless programs (such as rehab for criminals).

And that's precisely what you did to Pachacutec... You can dish it out but you can't take it. My day isn't perfect, but it's vastly improved taking jerks like you down a notch.

I'd rather these SOBs be loked up, than walking the streets. However, when they figure out that these f n pervs are def. guilty, they should go ahead & kill them. But, no these SOBs are living large,BIG screen tvs,and better food that they feed our children in public school.In our town a local man, X-Town Councilman(whoopee!)molested one of our local little girls. All that SOB got was 1o f n years, w/all suspended but 40 f n days!Can you even beleive that ****? I myself, have a daughter and I'd KILL a **** if they molested my child. AND can guarantee you I would get way more time than 10 years or 40 days!

Why not castrate,them and be done with it.

I feel like if GOD could give you a second chance then why not do the same for others. We are not to judge, that is GODS territory so let it be his. There are more criminals on the streets free, that are not getting any help, which could be your next door neighbor. Be carefully of the ones in the streets not the ones that are behind bars. Who knows may be if they had gotten help earlier they might still be on the streets. my point is don't judge because to those you will not give a second chance to, maybe GOD will not give you one. In the town that I live in,recently 72yr old X Town Councilman was charged with child mol.,and sp w/a foreign object. He pled NO CONTEST and only received 10yrs. all suspended but 40 days. Where is the justice?

They do have a law buddy, its called "vehicular manslaughter" and you can damn well get 20/plus years. Sounds to me that YOU are one of THEM!!! Child molester that is.

Would you rather have them locked up somewhere than to be out on the street. This facility is part of Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and had the facilty not been built, that hospital would have been shut down at a loss of several hundred jobs. Not to mention dangerously ill mental patients being put into nursing homes where ta da sexual offenders are. I know what I speak of because one of those rejects from Piedmont almost broke my back and injured me in 1999. I would rather see a child molestor and I was molested by one when I was six in a facility where they can not get out.
The reason why the facility was built came about because of a man who was sexually abused by a offender when he was a young child, the offender later was murdered in the center at Dinwiddie. No bleeding hearts over them but a realistic approach to a problem. We are no longer allowed to kill these jerks but they can not be released into society. Eventually this facilty will produce a payroll to Nottoway county in the amount of 2 million dollars a year. And it will have at least 300 jobs.
By the way what makes you think that a person who kills a child while driving drunk will serve time. I know of at least three cases in recent memory where that did not happen. In the case of my niece the killer only paid $25.00 dollars. Now what do you have to say?

I tell you what, If I was the parent of that little kid, This guy would be DEAD. I would have shot him dead right in front of the judge, and then tell the judge woops, tempary insanity, so sorry let me go. I would not stand by and let that injustice happen to my family. I don't think a jury of my peers would convict me of murder on this one, Hell they should give me a parade.

We need to be alot harder on crime as a society, until we can restore the real values of western culture again. This is a astronomical waste of money! A rope cost a few dollars and is reusable. Hang them all like in the old days!

Yep...they do have vehicular manslaughter. My grandfather was involved in an accident several years ago that claimed the life of a 17 year old boy. He spent over a month in the hospital with no memory whatsoever of what happened, was slandered as being a drunk driver, spent weekends in jail and two years of house arrest. After all this was said and done, the court released his medical record to show there was absolutely no alcohol in his system, and if it werent for the Parkinsons disease that they found when he was in therapy, he may have been able to see the stop sign he ran causing him to t-bone the car with the 17 year old. Now that my grandfathers is deceased, the court wants to issue an apology for publishing that he had been drinking. I know this is off topic, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.

Crystal can I say that I am sorry about your grandfather. You know when an accident occurs all sorts of rumors are started and yet no one seeks the real truth. Things happen to a person, look my brother found out he had an anuerysm just in time. Had it burst while he was driving, I am more than sure that he would have been accused just like your father. You know the truth and thanks for letting us know the truth. Accept the apology from the court, but don't expect the newspaper to put it on the front page. In Georgia when the Federal authorities found out that the bomber at the Olympics was not Richard Jewell, that apology did not get on the front page. Richard Jewell was never our suspect but the media made it that way.
