To take parts of a message, is the same as taking a part of the Constitution to allow this so called right to bear arms,....to shoot each other. Call me when the censor police come and take your computer, so you can't express your opinions. Good luck yahoos. Back to sipping the red kool-ade and the Cain train. MORE TO COME WHEN?

Never Fear wrote: <quoted text> "persecution for participating in a peaceful free-speech march" or did you really mean prosecution for participating in a violent free-speech march? Seems to me he came prepared to generate violence and got what he prepared for. Just thinking ahead. BTW, how are the rich exploiting the poor? By making profits from selling goods and services? What country would be your role model for utopian fair distribution of wealth? Do they have free speech? No one has to provide an alternative country to criticise aspects of this one. No one at the protest is advocating "Utopian fair distribution of wealth".(if they are, they are full of it) "How are the rich exploiting the poor?" Isn't that a Libertarian talking point? I don't begrudge anyone who works hard and makes money. Those who put money over lives and our planet by seeking de-regulation to allow polluters, and those who send their factories overseas to make more money at the expense of American jobs, those who buy politicians to achieve these ends: Eat them, they are pigs...

I felt that excuse, and the coordination of it was on it's surface, suspicious. The right of assembly. The right of free speech. When she told the arresting officer she was a part of the press, she states the the officer said; "not tonight". Reading some of the expressions of opinions above, I respect your right to them. However, if mayor Obama ordered such tactics against the tea party, some would be going crazy. Today is the day to express outrage for unconstitutional actions in an American city. Agree with the mayor's actions, or remaining quiet will only encourage further erosion of our rights. Be sure; this is neither politically Left or Right; this is about our basic rights to voice our opinions on forums like this and in the public domain. more to come For the third and final time WHEN did the Tea Party set up tents and then refuse to leave when asked?

I'm watching some of the coverage from the shut down Wall Street movement of today. What do I get from these protesters? They are people who aren't working and want something for nothing, who want to disrupt the routine others who are trying to get to work this morning. If their argument is with Wall Street, why are they also vowing to shut down the subways and bridges? They don't care what havoc they create or who they create it for, they don't care about the ordinary man. They don't give a d.... for the 99% they claim to represent. If they did, they wouldn't stand in the way of people who are trying to do a days work in order to draw a paycheck. Other than Mayor Blumberg, I would guess than none of the 1% they hate and envy so much have to use public transportation everyday. Most, IMO, are out to look cool, look like they aren't the do nothing generation, when in actual fact they are proving just the opposite. I'm not part of the 1%, but I sure don't claim to be a part of the 99% these people claim to represent.

Protesters ARE causing problems, but I don't think they claim to speak for the 99%, but rather use that percentage to indicate top-heavy wealth distribution and growing disparity which contributes to lower standard of living for the masses. Whether you agree with it or not, to one degree or another you are still affected by it. They know most don't like their method, and there is a lot of disagreement within the movement itself, but are trying out a mostly peaceful consensus approach as an alternative for our present bought and paid for broken system.

Since you don't have the integrity to answer the question, I have concluded that you are definitely NOT a United States Marine, unless you were dishonorably discharged and still consider yourself a Marine. You are most likely a marine, notice the small case "m", which you use in your posts. Definition:"of or relating to the sea." I would suspect your job is cleaning out the bilges of some wealthy person's yacht at some marina. When can I bring my boat in?

Tear gas my ****. You know what you did and deserve the arrest for criminal activity. Your story makes a lot of sense, nonsense that is. There wasn't any tear gas, nor threat of tear gas. Wearing a bandanna across your face was your choice, and it just so happens that it is a universally understood sign of threatening activity associated with criminality. You can protest all you want. Ignorance is no defense against breaking the law, particularly when you show no remorse. Exercise your first amendment rights. But do not go about impeding the right of way of others. Good luck finding work of any reasonable pay. Behave as a child, reap what you deserve. Nobody needs your Anarchist protection. Find something meaningful for your life long-term and grow the hell up!
