Still trying to figure out why a bypass is needed. You can get on I 64 there in Stauton drive 6 mile and get off exit 90 and your at the hospital. Or you can drive up 250 1 mile spend millions of dollars to build a new road 4 miles long and be at the same hospital. Miles of dollars to save someone driving 1 miles. In this time of financial crisis why do we need to spend tax dollars this way?

And we wonder why our economy is the way it is.

The obvious thing to do is widen the Fishersville overpass on 64. I don't know how any rescue vehicles get through when it's gridlocked several times a day.

It's all about developers and the "greased palm" form of government. There are over 1500 residential units planned in this bypass area, think of the tax revenue! The County planners don't care, it's all about the bottom line.

Augusta County is going to waste 12 to 15 million dollars on a road that no one uses and will be a dead end but they refuse to acknowlege the danger of residents in Brands Flats that have to make u-turns to come and go from our homes. Last Oct. i went before the board to request the median be torn up and asked for turning lane but they refused. the very least they agreed to was put in a turning lane, which they have yet to do. i guess you have to buy your health and saftely since it cant be simply ackknowledged
