Do I need to worry?

As of 7:17pm, NBCSandiego News said the fire was over 1000 acres and burning in a NE direction still.

I don't live in Alpine! I'm in Vista, 10 minutes away from the fire!!!! And, P.S.'Concerned in Oceanside': you might need to worry. In the last five years, we have had two major fire storms, all starting around this time and with a fire like this one.=/

I will gladly come show you exactly what I have learned from ten years of being a clown. Unfourtunately for you I have been deployed several times with my Marines and have no intentions of **** slapping any of them any time soon. But if you would be so kind as to let me practice my **** slap proceedures I will gladly drive to the location we keep safe for you and your family to ensure you that we are very funny CLOWNS indeed.

I live just outside the back gate on Vandergrift and have been watching the fire for several hours through binoculars. It really started blazing up between 7-8:30pm but now at 9 I see it has died down quite a bit. It is still quite a ways away from the Civilian part of town near Douglas and Vandergrift. It basically burned around the perimeter of the on-base golf course and climbed the canyons. I will be checking again before going to bed but I think this one is going to just char some open land and settle down. Before Sunset I saw the wild horses being corralled by a lone Cowboy coming down one of the ridges. Was quite a site to see in the back drop of the orange haze and sunset.

Having watched the Marines snuff out a fast moving blaze last year behind the fence I have confidence in the constant training they do with regard to the fires. I just hope that you folks on base do not have to get evacuated in some of the housing complexes. Fallbrook does not appear to be in any danger other than a bunch of stinky smoke.

the red flames are gone, good job so far...we'l keep watching.

well the housing in sarra mesa has a fire behind it i think some one started it they might be evacuating !!

Are there really 2 fires on base now?

My girlfriend's home borders right on the base on the Vandergrift side. About an hour ago, she asked to stay at my place if necessary, but I called her just a minute ago, and she says they almost have it out now.
