Kat Wilder: To sleep, perchance to have quiet

"Mmmmm," I said in sweaty, exhausted post-coital bliss. "Mmmmm," Van managed to mumble before dozing off.

You would think that the IJ could actually find a columnist that could 1) Write something interesting and 2) actually have the ability to...write. What a concept.

Instead they find one who connects with other Marin women, goes on dates and has sex...OMG. A real person.

Read the church newsletter if you are offended.

Hey not offended at all! She just repeats herself in almost every column. I started reading her column when it was new to the IJ and actually liked the stories about dating but then I realized she just talks about the same thing, over-and-over AND she can't write!! That is what I am saying.

Yah and what's that old adage - if you have to talk about it, it probably ain't happening. She's a dried up prune trying to sound like some hottie. Someone should tell her that snoring is coming from her dog.

good for you — what — don't "families" snore? And, where do you think "families" come from? The stork? Just wondering ...

94903 Land — If you think I'm not writing anything interesting, and that I can't write, and that I "repeats herself in almost every column ... why, why, WHY do you keep reading me? Really, there are so many other things to read! Stop torturing yourself, OK? Really, I insist ...

Thanks, orgasm. LOVE your name, BTW ...

So Over It — So does that mean that if I "have to talk about it (it being snoring, the topic of the column), it "ain't happening?" Is the snoring all in my mind? Since it's a dried up prune-like mind, perhaps ....

I though i was the only one who had these thoughts.
Whenever I have given constructive critism-i'm
labeled a misogynist. Maybe the
IJ doesn't pay very well? You would think with a
county of this size and filled with writers, they
could come up with someone who had a little talent-
they do have beth ashley, but her columns are buried. Well, at least, Kats is not vehemitly arguing
with every neg. post-so far-and if you do-i'm not
one of your exes.

To paraphrase an old aphorism - those who can, do; and those who can't, cricize. And as for the IJ being a "family" newspaper, check out the normal fare on the front page. A lot more shocking than anything Kat has addressed. And I always find her to be witty and thought-provoking, which is more than can be said for a lot of other columns in various newspapers around the Bay. It is amazing how people feel the need to get nasty with their criticisms - which, as any good therapist will tell you, says a lot more about the castigater than the object of his/her wrath.

Not as well as Kat, that's for sure, Mr. Whipped. And I suppose you're right - even those columnists who write about topics that I don't find of interest do their best. So, good point. And I really can't say, Refund, because I never really experienced that situation.
It does intrigue me that the critics of Kat are located mostly in Novato and San Francisco - is there something tainting the water there?

Gee, maybe we should visit Hayward more often so we can become more enlightened!
