This clown basically commited suicde by the lifestyle he lived. There is no sympathy coming from this person. The neighborhoods that a person ,when I was young, could be walked through at any time of day or night without fear of anything more hazardous than stepping on a dog turd, now have become a war zone with human turds as combatants.

Agreed. Miguel, like most young men his age, was terrified of having to actually make his own way. He was not concerned with getting by on a day to day basis, having a job and paying his bills and taking care of his child. His main concern was "livin large" and being a "major player". The concept of having only the best in life, but not doing anything to earn it, is pounded into these kids from an early age. They all know which brand of champagne costs the most, and which "cribs" thay want to live in, but they dont know how to fill out a job application or read a book. Their priorities are completely askew, and everything in their popular culture re-inforces thier viewpoint. We have lost 2 generations to this mindset, with no end in sight.
It is impossible for the young people in a community to develope into mature responsible adults when the adults in their community never evolved mentally past the 8th grade.
Ridiculous jewelery, drugs, and boasting about sexual conquests are NOT the hobbies of responsible intelligent adults. These kids are all screwed from the very begining. How can you learn responsibilty and what it means to be a man from others when no one in your neigborhood knows themselves.

Where there's drugs, there's guns. Where there's guns, there's shootings, serious injuries and deaths. These people need to change their lifestyles in order to break the cycle.

It is extremely dissapointing to read some of these comments.I do not understand how some of you people can judge her and her family.I do understand that you guys read what was said on the newspaper but just because the newspaper said it was "drug related" sometimes they ive false information.I find that you guys are being IGNORANT and should not comment on something you know nothing about. Rose ignore the negative comments and just do what you think is right.

If Rose wants to do the right thing, she needs to start by having her vagina sewed shut. How many more kids is this unmarried, unemployed woman going to bring into the world for us to pay for ?
Plus, according to some of the posts from people on this web site who seem to know her, she apparently has had drug problems. Great. Nice all around package. Don't worry Rose, the taxpayers will just keep on pickin up the tab.

Well that about sums it up. A well thought out factual argument from a concerned citizen. I wish more people thought like this.

Latasha Cannon, 17, was found with her throat slashed on the grounds of Raytheon Co. in Bedford in 2001.DSS had custody of her since the age of 3 !
KYLE ROSS A 5-year-old boy was mauled to death by his foster mother's Rottweiler in the family's backyard 2001.

And a child in my town was mauled and killed by their neighbors Dog. But they lived with their parents, not DSS ! why is it DSS fault that the dog attacked? What is it DSS fault that poor girl was killed in Bedford. Its not DSS fault. They do the best they can. Granted, foster care is not great, and I know plenty of people personally who have been horribly mistreated by their foster parents as a child. However, if their birth parents had stepped up to the plate, got their crap together and took care of their child, put their childs needs before their own... maybe those horrible things wouldnt have happened. and Maybe they would. You will never ever convice me that DSS takes children away who Dont Deserve to be taken away. I have PERSONALLY seen way too children stuck in homes they shouldnt be in. and harmed or killed by their OWN PARENTS ! It takes a lot in this country to prove a parent is unfit. and the poor INNOCENT children who have no controll over their lives are VICTIMS !!!!

No matter how the fatal abuse occurs, one fact of great concern is that the perpetrators are, by definition, individuals responsible for the care and supervision of their victims. In 2005, one or both parents were involved in 76.6 percent of child abuse or neglect fatalities. Of the other 23.4 percent of fatalities, 13.0 percent were the result of maltreatment by nonparent caretakers, and 10.4 percent represent unknown or missing information.

Maybe some of you idiots should give it a try. Respect is EARNED, not just handed out. I have seen nothing in this entire situation that warrants any respect whatsoever. This is a good example of wasted human flesh, the whole family that is. If you took a look outside of your little sewer of a neighborhood you'd see just how dysfunctional this whole situation is. Normal people don't live like that.

I agree that parents hold the blame for what becomes of their children, but I can't believe you're actually defending DSS. I believe it was created with the best intentions, but the whole agency needs to be rebuilt. The reasons they intervene should be revised as well.

There is no way DSS can handle the work load that these people put it under. I know a woman in Lowell who had had 4 children, all 3 or 4 years apart, and in the end they ALL had to go into the DSS program. People think of DSS as some sort of baby sitting program, where if you get sick of raising your kid and you want to go back to your single, party going lifestyle, you just give your kid up to DSS and start again. That what this woman had done, FOUR times. Now she has 4 kids in the system, we pay for it, the kids end up being all screwed up, they have no sense of family, and she's out there with her cigarettes and her wine coolers having a great time, talking about how much she loves her kids, and how she would do anything for them.
There is no way the DSS system can adequately keep track of the thousands of kids that need assistance because there parents are useless. Its not the fault of DSS, its the fault of the losers who never had any right to be parents in the first place. I have dealt with this endless stream of unfortunate children on more than one occasion. It makes my head spin just looking at the lists of children who need help, and who need to be placed in foster care because of irresponsible adults. Most of these kids grow up getting only a small percentage of the guidance that kids need, so guess what, they repeat the same mistakes their parents did, and start the cycle all over again. There is no way any one organization is up to the task of feeding, placing, and couciling thousands and thousands of children, most of whom need special services because of what they have been through.
And in the mean time, the people who are resposible for this mess are runnin down to the packy for another 12 pack and some smokes because hey, the have a right to their fun time, right ?
