Sorry but i think this is totally wrong. Parents just want a valid excuse as to why they can't (which really translates to WON'T) control their kids.

Autistic kids don't usually act out, they are much more likely to shut down.

You must be thinking of ADD/ADHD.

i think that is sad and that president Obama should give free health care for those people/children for doctor visits and check-ups (health related things)

you are mean these children don't ask to be this way it's a birth defect/something they are born with but at the end of the day they are just like us;just take a little bit longer to understand what the normal person understands in less time or right away.

Those with ADD/ADHD still wouldn't be an excuse for a parents misbehaving child. Not all with autism shut down, either and I'm sure that's not the behaviors poster 1 was speaking about anyway.

Obama just announced 5 Billion in research funds towards many things, including autism.

Phone surveys are rather interesting. You're relying that the person on the other end is being completely honest with a perfect stranger asking medical questions about their child/ children. There's no confirming any one of the phone survey had a child with autism at all. And then there's that 40 percent mentioned that no longer have an ASD diagnosis. That's interesting. Did the person answering questions base that on a medical diagnosis or an educational IEP? Besides that, there's the fact that of those called, 40 percent of those kids are no longer in that national autism count.

In the end, does it matter if there is 1:200 or 1:50? It doesn't point to cause nor does it give answers and if it was 1:500, we'd still want answers, wouldn't we?
