He was mentally fit to operate a hand gun.....drive a vehicle.....and ditch the car and run......but definitely not capable of sitting in a chair for a couple weeks.......nope no way can he do that.

Unfit to stand trial? Really? He was certainly fit enough to try to evade the police. He was certainly fit enough to try to steal a truck to escape. He was certainly fit enough to shoot at the police. He was certainly fit enough to have created an "extensive criminal history" for himself.

I think he should be declared unfit to breathe the same air as civilized human beings. In other countries, he would not have survived the shootout. Or the trip to the hospital. I wonder how much the taxpayers are going to spend keeping this piece of garbage housed, fed, and comfy in his State Hospital room? I suppose that's better than letting him roam free in society, if we can't execute him.

Our taxes at work now he'll be there for who knows how long. Maybe these officers need some training in shooting or the next time once he is caught they should hit him on the head with the butt of a shotgun that will do it.

I think with the right combination of medication and counseling, society can rehabilitate this poor soul and make him healthy and fit for execution.

Of course he faked insanity, life in a State Mental Hospital is like a day at Disneyland. They get 3 huge meals daily plus snacks. They get bbq's and assorted parties every month. They go on outings. They have clean clothes and warm beds, airconditioned rooms, everything is given to them. At some point he will probably transferred to another hospital which is better than Patton and get more freedom to roam around, ride bikes, gardening, go for walks, etc... He or his lawyer worked the system and kept him out of jail. Was he incompetant on his previous convictions or did he realize he could stay out of jail this way???

<quoted text>WELL well, MR Tax spender....you see beefcake,,,the police are critized if they kill the person, and there critized if they dont kill the person like you. What would happen is a group of 50 samoans with a clumsy lawyer, would show up at LB police head quarters and chant the police are killers, just like there are blacks unhappy that dexshunti the Elm St criminal died. So give me a break.
Let them be unhappy, Justice was served!!

So, he had the mental capacity to run, drive, shoot, walk, attempt a carjack, shoot again, be part of a gang, have a criminal history. His nerve is better than mine, he sure has great lawyers. How is he unfit again? I need details.
I may need it when I run into trouble.

Unfit for trial. But not unfit to commit a crime. What a cop out. I think anyone that commits a crime is unfit.I think the word unfit is used to many times to get somebody off, after commiting a crime. I think insane/unfit people should be grilled on the stand just like anyone. Otherwise you can't get to the truth. This is just the politically correct(failed)system at work..
