The judges need to use the same sentencing for child molesters and drunk drivers! Maybe we won't see so many headlines for those offenses if harsher sentences were handed out.

How is he going to pay $400,000.00 in restitution if he's in prison the rest of his life? Will he be paid by the taxpayers to be in prison? If he works at the prison to earn the money shouldn't the money pay for the cost of his incarceration?
If incarceration is "only" $25,000 a year,(That's a low estimate and increases just like everything else), it's going to cost a million dollars to keep him locked up for 40 years. I highly doubt that prison jobs will pay well enough for him to pay off the restitution and the cost of incarceration.
Is the pay for prison jobs subsidized by taxpayers?

An addendum to my previous post:
I'm not advocating the release of this man. I think he deserves every bit of punishment he gets. I just want to know where all of this money is going to come from.

I just want to know how he got out of being partly responsible for the death of his friend. He left a corpse to rot, etc. No charges for any of that?

I suppose they would be moot if he's in prison for the rest of his life for the arson, but it still seems odd.

Abuse of a corpse was one of the charges, yes.
