First Off my thoughts and prayers are with the deputy that has been shot.
My mother dated this psycho when I was a teenager.
I always knew there was something about him that didn't seem right. How unfortunate that my gut was right. From what I remember he was about 6'2'' and on the bulky side, he had blondish hair and likes bars and casinos and went by the name Kurt Sorhbeck. I urge all drivers on the road or at any bars or casinos to keep an eye out and call POLICE if you see him, don't attempt to apprehend him for the obvious reasons.

Robert is a very close family friend...He is in our prayers tonight. He was the first officer on scene when my Dad passed away. He means so much to us. I hope that the suspect is caught and that justice is served...but most of all I hope that Robert is ok...

Robert Shepherd is like a brother to me. He lived with my family when we were in high school (in Weed, NM). I now live in West Virginia. My mom called to tell me about the shooting. My sister called a while ago and said they caught the shooter- can anyone verify this?

Thank you to everyone who is praying for Robert & his family!!

We hope everyone will keep praying for Sgt. Robert Shepherd and his family. Robert is a dedicated Father and husband, as well as a decorated law enforcement officer. Our prayers are with him, his family, and his fellow officers who are tracking the animal that did this.

THANK YOU so much for all the coverage you are giving this alarming story of the sheriff being shot. We live in the mountains and until I looked on you web site it seems to be a dropped subject. We live in Cloudcroft and the closest news station is KOAT channel 7, as they have a satellite office in Alamogordo. You would think they could keep reporting on this story as many people could be in danger if he is still in the area. But NOOOOO, nothing from them, so I was very happy to see all the articles you have on your site. Thank you for caring enough to keep reporting on this. Channel 7 has really let us down and I personally will never watch channel 7 again and I will tell my friends as well. Again, thank you.

I live a few blocks from where this took place. I was not at home when it happened, but came home about 20 minutes after the shooting. Since it has happened, I leave all my outside lights on, all the blinds closed. I hope they catch this guy SOON. My neighborhood is on edge, not knowing if he is still roaming through our area. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sheppard family.
