Oh thank God! I read this earlier and then after I took my kids to school I got back on and saw that the child is alive. I just pray the kid survives. How tragic.

Glad they are alive....

Sounds like they learned a tough lesson...pay close attention to your driving...don't try to turn in front of oncoming traffic unless you have a clear opening which it seems these kids failed to do.

Sure was foggy here this morning, about the consistency of pea soup. Wonder if fog played a part in this accident there. The trash truck is white and would be hard to see if no lights were on.

I too am glad to hear the child is alive. May God be with her and her family.

Fog was not a factor. One of the local news helicopters was flying over the wreck and they were reporting on it live and there was clear visability. Fog wont clear until after daylight most of the time.

Somebody higher than that helicopter watched over that girl.

Thank God she wasn't killed. When I first read this it said fatality. I'm glad it turned out to not be the case!

I just drove through that intersection and although the accident is cleared, there is still a lot of debris, glass, tailight parts etc On Garnett. Can't they clear that up? Now that I know that it wasn't a fatality accident, it makes it a little easier to see that mess, but what a sad reminder.

Rumor is that it's the daughter of someone I work with. His daughter is that age, goes to Union and he e-mailed about her being in an accident this morning. I hope to god she's OK.

How does one go from dead to alive? Wow what a major journalism failure.
