I'm sorry people have to die being subdued by police but if they are reesistant and need it, death is a risk they take. I'm not so sure the police should not be allowed to shoot those resisting and fighting them.

U don't know if the uspect is under the influence of a narcotic.Any struggle could lead to death. It is his choice to be violent. You would want assistance in subduing him if he was attacking u or your family. Or would you want the officer to b nice to him?

it's supposed to be an alternative to lethal force, not a source of convenience for police. if they wouldn't shoot someone with a gun in a circumstance, then they shouldn't shoot them with a taser. the cops who defend such actions drag the whole force down with them.

If a cop tasers me, I'll come to his home and shoot him. Self defense is the word.

WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO STOP THIS CRIMINAL WEAPON. WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD GET TASERS AND START TASING ALL OF THOSE POLICEMEN AND THE POLITICIANS, WHEREVER WE WOULD LIKE TO DO IT, SPECIALLY IN THEIR EYES, **** AND RIGHT IN THEIR MOUTH SO THAT THEY CANNOT LIE ANYMORE.

Tasers are less lethal weapons than guns. If the suspect had to be subdued, then he had a better chance of surviving a taser than a gunshot. However, tasers are still a very serious weapon. The police have the need to subdue suspects and must have the power to do so effectively.

In Canada the Oct 14 death at Vancouver's airport of a 40-year-old newly arrived wannabe Polish immigrant by Taser has the nation outraged by the wanton police brutality that led to his death.

Ever grab hold of an electric fence or accidentally get shocked by bare wires? Multiply that by ALOT. Do you suppose if a cop decides you are being too rambunctious and tases you that you will have complete control over what you do next? NOT. Cops use tasers for CONVENIENCE as their FIRST line of defense and it scares me to death that someone I know might end up getting tasered and ACCIDENTALLY do something whilst being electrified that would cause the cop to shoot them.

This day the modus operandi seems to be to "BLAME" the deaths of suspects in custody on the taser and to avoid all that messy wrongful death investigations. i have video of a cop killing a amn with his baton and EVERYONE is rushing to blame it on the Taser.

Now that Tasers are killing people around the USA (this is becoming common), welcome to Orwell's 1984 nightmare world.
Our police forces can now kill us with electric shock tools and get away with it. DISGUSTING!!!!
Is this the direction we all want the USA to go in? Seems like terrorists hell bent on changing the way we live have won. This country is not a democracy or federal republic anymore, its a Dictatorship/Police State! Way to go blind morons who can't see whats going on!

Can the Police use an alternative to tasering people when this type of situations looms. Or is it that the risk of over tasering some one can lead eventually to death. Why the police does not have the proper training or knowledge about the possible results of using such weapon.

I GUESS NO ONE REALIZES HOW MUCH POLICE OFFICERS DO AND NO ONE THINKS THAT THEY TO WANT TO GO HOME EVERY DAY TO THEIR FAMILY AND OF COURSE IF SOMEONE IS RESISTING ARREST OR GETTING ATTACKED THEY ARE GOING TO TASE OR SOMETIMES EVEN SHOOT THE SUSPECT THEY ARE PROPERLY TRAINED AND THERE TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY.... JUST LIKE IF SOMEONE IS GETTING ATTACKED YOU DO WHATEVER TO DEFEND YOURSELF THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU DONT HAVE A TASER AND OFFICERS DO THINK ABOUT THAT. ALSO NOBODY LOOKS AT HOW MUCH OFFICERS HAVE DONE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY PEOPLE JUST WAIT FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING WRONG SO EVERY ONE CAN START JUDGING THEM WHEN REALLY WE WOULD OF ALL DONE THE SAMETHING IT IS VERY SAD THAT THERE WAS A LOST LIFE VERY SAD MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO THE FAMILY

I believe they have pepper spray to subdue people, It seems like whenever something threatens an officer its time to pull out the taser or their firearem out first, I hope the family gets a lawyer. That taser should have been their last resort, like I said there are other ways they have to subdue people.

If a cop tries to taser me, it will be because they are lying about subduing me. I never fight back against dangerous stupid LA cops.

If I get tasered, I will fight like hell to turn the weapon back upon my attacker. I hope there is a videographer around.
