Does anyone question why we are in the financial shape that we are in? Just listen to these three, supposed leaders, Hanabuhaha, Donna Dingbat Kim, Calvin I don't know what to do or Say. What a bunch of absolute losers. The quote that is classic is Hanabuhaha "passing a GET increase would be an admission that the state was in serious trouble" Look stupid; the Governor has been saying we are in “trouble” for months. You’re now figuring this out? Admit it the Governor was correct and you Democrats have been wrong all along. Oh that’s right; All the three, of you can do is blame the Governor for “all” of "your" mismanagement practices. The story is now out that the Dumbocrats have been causing these problems just to make the Governor look bad. For once why don’t you do what is good for the people of Hawaii, not just the Unions. Nah that will never happen, you three are only good at sucking up to the Unions “pants” and nothing else.

"But state leaders fear that even a 1 percentage point increase in the general excise tax would not help, and they doubt a tax increase would survive a veto by Gov. Linda Lingle." The legislature overrode all her vetos last session. They are making excuses not to tackle the problem. The legislature truly won't admit to messing up in the first place and want to place all blame on the governor while taking the 30% pay raise for part time work and running away from the hard issues and decisions that we elected them to make. Time to vot all incumbents out of office.

The Rail Tax was rammed down the throats of the tax payer by Lingle and Mufi and it has been hurting our economy ever since. GET tax is regressive and will depress revenues and economic activity. Look, why fund dysfunction. Make state government and the horrible DOE clean up its act first. Then seek revenue options.

Of course you realize that one or two phone calls to a legislator's office is considered "piling on" or "overhelming".
Especially at lunchtime or anytime after 3:30 pm.
