From HA:
Dozens of people paid $100 each to attend a VIP party to meet cast members of the "WowoWee" television show last night, but left angry when no one from the production showed up and no money was refunded.

The event was set for the Rumours nightclub at the Ala Moana Hotel and drew between 250 and 300 fans of the popular variety and game show from the Philippines, according to people who attended the event. "Wowowee" is scheduled to appear tomorrow night at the Aloha Stadium.
A pre-show "meet and greet" event was to be held last night and tickets were sold in advance as well as at the door. Jason Fernandez of 'Ewa Beach said he and his wife brought their daughter to the club and paid $300 for the VIP bash because they're big fans of the show.
Fernandez said people were lined up for the party by 5 p.m. and he estimated that nearly 300 people eventually crowded into the nightclub. But as the evening went on, no one from "Wowowee" showed up and people began to worry.
By 10:30 p.m. the fans realized that the party wouldn't happen. Fernandez said many were confused because none of the four people who were collecting tickets and money stayed behind to explain what had happened.
A spokeswoman for the show's producer said the incident is under investigation.

They don't care if you are Ilocano or Tagalog or what not! All they care about is if you are Mestizo. As if I'm suppose to be a better Filipino if I'm a fair-skinned Ilocano. We need to get rid of this colonial mentality assigning superiority to lighter skinned Filipino is simply BS! Most Filipinos are represented by the People we see in Philippine television. Anyway I'm still going... it's not their fault... it's a Filipino Colonial problem.

I'd have to call in sick at work in order to watch this at Aloha Stadium but then I was thinking that it's useless because this show is also in some way discriminatory: Why can't we see any Ilocano actors or singers in Manila? Almost all those show biz producers keep on hiring and promoting are Tagalog and Visayan artists.

Not only some Ilocanos are nakset'(suntanned) but other Filipinos especially the Bisaya people as they celebrate their black (Aeta, Ati or Negrito) heritage via Ati-Atihan Festival. Suppose you won the million peso ($25K) prize on Wowwowwee, you'd be able to recoup what you lost in your minimum wage (7.25/hr) 24-hr business job, never mind that Ilocana actress & ex-Miss Universe Gloria Diaz and Ilocana Hollywood actress Tetchie Agbayani wouldn't be there with the Wowwowwee crew. Ilocanos excell in other aspects too, you know, not just in entertainment. Just ask Ilocano ex-Hawaii Gov. Cayetano, he'd tell you that Filipinos have had more Ilocano presidents (6 = Quirino, Magsaysay, Garcia, Marcos, Ramos and the current one who's half) than Tagalogs (5) or Bisayans (2). The richest Fil-Am today is an Ilocano-Ibanag in California, billionaire engineer Banatao. You can learn about or even meet more of these great Filipinos from the Ilocos side at http://www.iluko.com and http://www.filipinotrivia.com

Great info.

... spreading joy? Please he is spread joy for himself because people are willing to give him cash monies as gifts-if anyone watches the show Revillame receives cash in USD from his fans to get a spot or tv time~ So, can we get him on local taxes for cash gifts? Let's not even get into with the "dancers"!
