Hey anti SF folks onKauai, can you say $20 a loaf bread?

If the people on Kauai don't want the Superferry bringing bread, then let them eat cake.

I feel for the many, many people of Kaua'i who were for the Superferry. The protesters.... they can suck wind.

The tomatoes, onions and lettuce can go by barge in a refrigerated container. It only takes a day.
We get produce from the mainland on a container ship and it takes a week. What's so special about Loves bread? Someone should set up a bakery on Kauai. In the Navy an aircraft carrier has 5,000 sailors and they bake their own bread and Kauai has more than 5,000 people. |

Perhaps all the neighbor islands should become self sufficient. Most of the people living off of Oahu do not want intrusion by outsiders, so this is the perfect opportunity for all of them to start building up infrastructure. Who needs cargo if you can manufacture and produce your own commodities?

the super ferry shouldn't go to Kauai, let them stew a while longer... where were these people when the protesters lined the docks or when the spokesperson for the superferry appeared at the public hearings..

The sheer stupidity of the anti ferry protestors will slowly unravel itself. I'd really like to see what they will say if they pay $40 a gallon of milk or $20 for a carton of eggs. I don't see them being part of any solution.

Superferry will step up to the plate and do what is right. Let's hope those protestors will finally be drowned out by the PEOPLE of Kauai. Maybe if the Aloha pilots and GMAC had considered all probabilities, instead of their way or no way, the state would not be in this predicament. |

The name calling is as bad as the math here. Before milk would be $40 a gallon, smart people would have bought cows and sold it for $20 a gallon. Chickens would be even easier. Do you really need to burn all that petro to get products that could be produced locally? |

Yep those big boats in the water endanger marine life and the enviroment. The cars coming in from Oahu are a big problem too. Sounds like we need to STOP THE BARGES! NOW! Then Kauai can be like Cuba, 50 years old cars and cut off from the world.Steve

the people of Kauai deserve what is happening to them now as they still don`t want the superferry let them suffer

Wonder if Kauai will protest the SF now?

Hampton, VA What's so special about Loves bread? Someone should set up a bakery on Kauai. In the Navy an aircraft carrier has 5,000 sailors and they bake their own bread and Kauai has more than 5,000 people. Here's your big(Big Okole) opportunity to start your own business in Kauai. |

Trujillo's Bakery!
Fresh bread baked daily! $6.00 loaf! Don't want to pay that much? Come to Trujillo's Appliance Store and buy a bread machine...$400!!! |

Hey, I'm from Kauai and I think you guys should not criticize all of us here because of what some idiots like Jimmy Trujillo think. The majority of us here want the superferry here and I think that if the Superferry does come here, at the least, the protesters should stand at the end of the lines to procure goods like milk, etc.
Personally, I'd like to see them all support their cause by going out into the water to blockade the Superferry, get arrested by the government, and spend a good number of years in jail thinking about the noble cause they pursued. I support the superferry - I always did!!! |

Some no doubt would. People do strange things all the time that leave you scatching your head. :-) |
||||
They don't need bread. Too much carbs. Bad for them. Rice and pasta too. A diet of mango, papaya, eggplant, and tilapia is much better. :-) |

Who is Trujillo. Some loud mouth that has appointed himself spokesman for the people of Kauai. The truth be known, most of them wish he would go away, maybe to Molokai and join Walter Ritte. Talk about a clash of egos. But back to the subject. It's not only Loves bread and leis that can't get to Kauai. Just about any repair part for anything (car, truck, heavy equipment, bakery?, water lines, power generators, etc) that is urgently needed was flown in. Now what may have taken a day to get repaired may take 2 or 3 days. The trickle down effect and its impact isn't fully known yet. It's sure to have a disastorous impact on general population. Maybe that will induce them to tell people like Trujillo enough already.

Much smaller Navy ships also bake their own bread but the fact is, they don't have to make a profit. |
