This is why businesses buy insurance to cover their losses so they can resume business. Be sure to ask if repairs and loss of business is covered as well as the lost merchandise. Main thing is no life was lost. If the serial numbers of the computers were not recorded upon delivery, your stupid loss. If they were then you can contact the computer manufacturer(s) and trace them when they go online or sell them on Ebay or such. I remember a UH teacher recovered his computer when he re-bought it off Ebay. Culprit was arrested no thanks to the cops.

I live in St. Louis,Mo and for about a year we had numerous thieves do this to electronics stores in my city! There hasn't been any in the last 6 months and no one was ever caught!

If I owned a shop, and if I happened to be working late one night, and if I my business was broken into in similar ways such as these crimes, I would take that break-in as a sign of grave danger and commence firing at will/shoot to kill in such a circumstance as I protected myself and property.

I sure wish Hawaii would bring the death penalty to it's state. And I am happy that the HPD have fired their weapons in the line of duty and wounded or killed morons attempting to complete their crimes.

Why do people always bring political rhetoric to discussions? This has nothing to do with Gov Lingle or any state/local politicians. Concentrate on the perps and how they can be caught. HPD doesn't have ESP to know where a crime will stike next. Businesses should protect their property and not cut corners to do it. In the case of 99 Ranch it wasn't mentioned if they had a silent alarm installed. I have a feeling it was an inside job.. maybe a former employee or even the security guard, if any. How else did the perps knew where the cameras were and disabled them? No way that no videos were taken during the crime. Too many crooks watching TV and try to emulate what they see, and it works!

This dum kids are watching to much tv show a copy cat is what it is, this tv show are not good for the kids growing up now days, the truth is it show what can they do and get away with it specially if the culprit is under age, they just give then candy and tell them go home be good boys. another show is about how to break in a home and how to ransuck a home and take every thing that not bolted to the ground

I'm not a big fan of HPD either, but, it's our responsibility as well as HPD's to monitor & act on all suspicious activities! Instead of voicing all the negative attitudes here, start by calling your district representatives with your concerns and also by dialing 911 everytime you see something out of the ordinary. Whether it be someone weaving in/out of traffic, possibly drunk or maybe even making off with a stolen vehicle! It takes ALL! our efforts to maintain safer communities, not just those in our legal systems! After all it's YOUR!! lives that may one day be affected by one of these criminals/their activities!! Even if you're not sure a crime is being committed, it's always better to be safe than sorry later, wishing you had dialed 911.

You're actually right to an extent, because it isn't HPD the criminals should be afraid of! Lately, alot of your average law abiding citizen's are the one's being commended for assisting in the arrest & prosecution of these criminals by coming forth and testifying in court! Or worse, taking care of the problem(s) themselves before the cop's can even make an arrest!

Look at this technique, folks. Drive a stolen SUV straight through the front doors. Wear full masks and gear to completely conceal identity. Take only what you specifically want. Dig.

As a fellow small business owner this type of crime has me concerned because I don't know if my business is being targeted, if so, when, by whom and why.

Too many TV shows showing this type of theft method makes it bad for the rest of us. Businesses get hurt and consumers end up paying higher prices because of these beasterds. I hope we nail these guys.
