'Sullivan hopes the positions will be restored when revenue returns to normal.' Sullivan should have said abnormal instead of normal, 2004-2008 were abnormal years caused by abnormal O&G activity - thanks to Richardson's ludicrous Pit Rules, these years will never return.
Rob Mayes is still SPENDING like crazy - rationalizing his behavior like a meth addict defending his disease; this attitude being supported by Sharpe, Standley, and Darnell - SPEND SPEND SPEND then INCREASE TAX liberals taking every (full) advantage of the financial crises.
It is time for the TEA PARTY to focus on Farmington's City leaders and management.

Why was Campbell, the Asst City Manager, interviewed for the article. Seems to me Campbell really runs the Cits affairs. Mayes is just a figure head Farmington's own Queen of England. Mayes has no business running a municipality. Cut his position and let Campbell fill it through "attrition" and save the community another 100G's plus.

First of im sorry for your loss. SJRH is horrible. I had my first child there and they about killed me. It didn't help that my obgyn was a horrible doctor too. SJ county in general has poor health care. They don't allow vbacs at sjrh either which is very unfair. If you didn't want another c-section you would hope you could get to albq before the baby flew out.

Spends a lot of time away doesnt he. And how do you justify an Asst City Mgr for a town the size of Fmgtn dumbazz. I guess he also has all the qualifications of other city managers across the country too right? His appointment was typical. all in who you go to church with. Look it up.

Let's see...you couldn't answer the spending question, now, you can't tell us how much time he spends away from his job. It's easy to create rumors and throw stones without any responsibility. It sounds like you applied for the assistant city manager job and your GED didn't work.

1) Not that I'm aware of. If you know something, tell us.

2) I looked at a dozen cities the size of Farmington and all had Asst City Managers.

3) I don't know. You tell us. What qualifications are required to be a City Manager that Mayes dosn't posess? I know he has an MBA degree.

Again - what does this have to do with the City budget? You are on the wrong thread.

Rob Mayes claims he is saving the City money by not hiring people he could hire. The people he is talking about don't even exist, they are not costing the city anything, so how is this saving money. Rob Mayes logic is alarming - people watch out !!

If a position is open and Mayes chooses not to refill it, than the City, through Maye's decison, has saved the cost of that position. The position was real, the person who had the position was real, and the person who would of had the position (had Mayes not prevented the rehire) would have been real. The amount of money now not paid out is real. It is an real item that has been struck from a real budget, saving real money. It's like if you had a lawn care service that, for whatever reason, decided to stop providing service to you, and you decided you aren't going to replace that service, you have just eliminated a monthly expense.

How about cutting the insentives, bonuses, company vehicals and company gas cards, that are payed by tax payers. Cut positions on people like Brisno, Templeton, jail instructor with the wife insident, and so on. I bet these things were never discussed.

I'm not sure those suggestions would save much.

Other than a one-time sign on bonus/incentive for a policeman, I'm not aware of any bonus/incentives. The city has to compete with other cities for policemen. Sign on bonuses are a common for policemen.

The city doesn't give every employee a vehicle to take home. Only on call people and supervisors take them home. Not much different than on call and supervisor positions in the private sector. Gas cards? Yeah that's how the gas pumps at the city vehicle operations center works. The gas cards system was actually created because it records which employee puts how much gas in what vehicle. That's a good thing.

As far as Brisno and others go, you can't cut a specific job to get rid of a specific person. And if they fired Brisno he would be replaced by a new hire that was paid a sign on bonus.

The county jail employee with the wife problem was a county employee, not city.

Dang your hide anyway. How are people like Loud Pipe supposed to spread unfounded rumors and bring up irrelevant issues if your going to ruin em with your damn facts. What are you, some kind of a truth freak or something? Jeeze, the nerve of some people.

My point was to rid of those who abuse the system of things. Thanks for being respectable in your responce. Not like these other inbreads.
