who cares wrote: honestly.... who gives a crap about this?? do you honestly think people will go to this place if it even opens?? what mother drops her kid off at the bus stop and heads off to stripping class.... come on, give me a break. this has to be a joke... almost as good as carmen electra's "workout" video. A pole dancing studio is not necessarily a stripping school. Some women who pole dance are strippers--most are not. Many are housewives. Quite a few go to pole dance class afte dropping their kids off at day care. I am a married man, father of two--and I am learning pole dance moves. It's great fun, involves no nudity, and is quite physically challenging!

spotter wrote: XXX-ERCISE ??? Go ahead, enlightened moms and dads..... Sign up your own teen aged daughter for this. And see the results in a few years. Ugh. Perhaps Las Vegas or Atlantic City would be a more appropriate location for this obvious Stripper School. Whatever happened to tap and ballet ? Tap and ballet are still around, last time I checked--my daughter took all those things when she was younger. When I put up the pole, she gravitated to it right away--mom wasn't all that happy about it (at first), that's for sure! At thirteen, she has refused all forms of sport and exercise--maybe the rebellious nature of the pole attracted her. She's got a wicked V spin (better than dad!), a serviceable Manhattan, and a few other basic moves. We have just a few rules--no poling when no adult is around--and we're not sharing it with the more conservative neighbors! Anyway, she got an hour work-out yesterday. If you're not comfortable with pole, sign your daughter up for traditional gymnastics. Every move on the dance pole is the same as regular old girl's gymnastics--except the bar is horizontal. It's amazing, isn't it? Tilt a pole one way, it's "pornography"--tilt it the other way it's a "wholesome sport for girls..." Go figure!

Another prime example of the Nanny state we live in protecting us from our hedonistic uneducated choices! Thank god the city council has the foresight to tell me that It is dangerous to be sexually expressive!
Seriously its a form of exercise that stems from adult entertainment; however on its own is innocent and fun.
Any alcohol serving bar is 10x more dangerous than this dance studio to the public, and I likes me some liquor.

We all know what the "pole" is, so why does a woman have to "dance" around it to feel good about her- self and her body? You're a pervert.

This girl is my hero. You go girl. If we had one of these exercise places in York I would go. It would be so much fun. I seen one of these places on the reality show "Brooke Know Best" and she went to that place with her mom and her best friend and those three looked like they were having fun. When you can finally have fun doing exercise then maybe some Americans won't be so fat because they will finally have the ambition to exercise!!

Exercise... Hmmmm....
As I understand it.. all branches of the US Military have intensive physical training (i. e. exercise) during Basic Training and afterwards.
Plenty of ropes, logs, walls, water, dirt, and sweat available with the US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines.
But, NO POLES. Not at Parris Island, and not at Lackland.
However, there ARE places just off base that DO have POLES, at or near military bases worldwide. Not suprising how physically fit military types are only on one side of the invisible wall, and not on the other.
I recommend military basic training for any teen or young adult who has fitness issues, or feels that a pole is legitimate exercise. It might also help them to escape parents who have greater issues than pole support.

Jerry Springer has poles, all you pole riders can go there and perform for the world instead of getting local young girls to end up like you. Take your classes and shoved them up your hole, I mean pole! L.O.L.

This kills me like someone said before there are swing clubs in this area not just one either, but i guess because they give back to the community in some shape that makes it okay. well if you are gonna ban a pole dancing studio, then you better make dam sure you go after these clubs...I mean lets be real if it aint hurting anyone that leave it alone. And those who protest it, really are just pissed cause they dont have the guts to go and try it. they just may like it wouldnt that be a surprise. we need to chose our battles and this one is a waste of time.

Crazy fool X3 The website says "Make Your Bachelorette Party Wild" last time I checked that would be for the BRIDE and her friends not the groom, though I'm sure he'd appreciate what his wife to be learns at this type of party.

Why cause any more trouble, we have enough killings, abuse and shootings over cheating, and pole girls are the #1 cause. Whether it's down at the block, or in a basement!
