I believe this to be the only choice when it boils down to quality control and conviction to do the job as best as possible. Smith-Hanes is a no-brainer choice. He has been doing exceptional work and is a honest communicator - I appreciate honest communicators. He takes over for Loretta who also did a fine job for the county, especially in lieu of the financial shell games.

Wow, a degree in public administration...someone rush to tell HSU that they a exist!
Would have been nice to also read the compensation for this top position. Surely it would ruffle some feathers during the Great Recession. |

You can look up the salary on the county website under https://co.humboldt.ca.us/jobs/salary/ You can look up every county job on there and see what they make. The CAO makes $13,672 which is roughly $164,000 a year before taxes. |
