Walking a timeworn path to office

Johanna Rodoni is certainly not alone in the long tradition of widows who want to finish the balance of their late husband's elected terms.

Roger is still cooling in the ground and his widow is calculating how to take his seat.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

How to get government like David Gundersen and Wiley Buck.

Democracy be damned. We want Mrs Rodoni NOW.

Mrs Rodoni's qualification which trumps experience, education and moral sense is a DEAD HUSBAND.

I probably would vote for Johanna for sentimental reasons, but I would like to see a selection of candidates to choose among.

Isn't that the way we are supposed to do it in this country?

That didn't come out the way I wanted.

Despite the tragic lose of Roger, it is God's plan that he continue through his loving wife.

Why put the grieving widow on the front page? That's terrible. Typical TS. Print then think.

You people are horrible- you actually seem to believe that Rogers death was a blessing, because it raises the odds of a conservative taking the seat.

Pathetic

Mark Stafford at post #2 take a long cruise to Communist China and stay the heck off of our democracy. While you are at it think about your insults to America and Americans.

What in the hell was the T/S thinking using a picture of Johanna taken at Roger's Memorial? Too lazy obviously to get out of the office and take a decent picture where she is grieving!!

I thought Mark Stafford was going for biting satire, but I could be wrong.

As for Mrs. Rodoni's picture on the front page, Johanna Rodini put herself there by requesting to be appointed to a public office. The picture being of her in her "widoes weeds" is also appropriate; seeing that her status to be considered for the job is that she is the incumbent’s widow.

I guess I would prefer to wait for the election to decide who is to be the interim Second District Supervisor. I know we (the Second District) will be unrepresented for a while, but I don't see the advantage of having someone there just to keep the chair warm for a few months either.

I would suggest that debate and voting on the "important issues" mentioned in the article be put off until an elected supervisor takes his or her place on the board.

Though Mr. Rodoni's politics were not my own, I do pay my respects to the man and my regrets in the timing and manner of his demise.
