"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the occupied Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country." --Adolf Hitler, dinner talk on April 11, 1942, quoted in Hitler's Table Talk 1941-44: His Private Conversations, Second Edition (1973), Pg. 425-426. Translated by Norman Cameron and R. H. Stevens. Introduced and with a new preface by H. R. Trevor-Roper. The original German papers were known as Bormann-Vermerke.

This basically says it all doesn't it?

they haven't took your rights you still got your guns. I don't know why gun-owners are so afraid of their rights being tooken when every gun shot that finds it's target violates those peoples rights and destroys famlies on a daily basis!
Gun boys, gun boys, what you going to do, what you going to do when they come for your blue.

Well, Jerry, I've got news for you. Carrying concealed weapons in restaurants that serve alcohol is completely legal in Florida with a concealed weapons license and nearly half a million Floridians do so on a regular basis.

Get over yourself.

Anti-gun people are so misinformed and naive its unbelievable! Thats what happens when you grow up on too much television and movies. You become a complete product of a suburban/urban upbringing. Stop confusing honest gun owners with criminal scum who obtain illegal guns with malintent! Laws wont stop them, they are criminals remember?

Excuse my grammer but on your offer to go back to school, no thanks!
I have had enough of americas education. I get enough of it by watching all the violence on tv and reading the opinions of idiots that have an education that if you think about it is worth about as much as the paper stating this achievment that is useless. Education is a joke in this nation. Their still teaching our children how to work in factories or be store clerks or janitors. 90 percent of all diploma holders still to this day struggle to make ends meat year in and year out. The Asians by far dominate the top of classes in this nation, what does that tell you?

Try substituting the word "negro" for the word "gun" and you'll see how bigoted the anti-gun crowd is against law-abiding citizens who are just minding their own business.

There only criminals when they use them for a crime. So this tells me that any gun owner is capable of useing their gun for a crime. Mental illness can get to us all. Nobodys safe from guns period. Quit living in your delusional world?

A holstered gun on the belt of a decent, law-abiding human being is a threat to no one other than criminals.

Killing outside of self-defense and other extremely narrow circumstances (i.e. defending someone else' life) is still a crime.

There is a huge difference between allowing someone to carry a gun in a restaurant that serves alcohol and allowing a person who carries a gun to get drunk. Some states do not allow any alcohol consumption while carrying. Other states use the same legal limit used for driving. A few states don't say anything one way or the other.

I should also point out that people with concealed weapons licenses are five times less likely to commit a violent crime than the general population and 11 times less likely to hit an innocent bystander than the police.

As I read this article I was pleased with the group's intentions--to make the general gun-fearing public aware of the broad spectrum of people who do carry daily, and to enlighten those gun-fearing folks that gun-owners are not scary criminals, but rather law abiding everyday citizens. It seems that many of the poster's on here missed that point however. These weren't people "acting like Jesse James." They were normal everyday citizens in upper-class suburbia enjoying meals and exercizing their right to carry arms.

OK, I'll bite. just what IS the UN's plan to ruin and disarm America? Details please? exactly whose subjects are we gonna be?
BTW, the destruction of America's economy, IMHO, is simply the rich folks taking power back from the American middle and working classes. and thus far, those aforementioned classes seem to be playing right along, not realizing it is even happening, because they can still buy lots of cheap junk, made in China, at good 'ol Wal-Mart. you know, that place that used to be so keen on selling made in America stuff?

You do,of course, realize how FEW people in Colonial America actually owned weapons, or could afford to own weapons? How few cowboys could hit the broad side of a barn with their six-shooters, because they weren't paid enough to afford ammo for target practice?
By your criterion, there were far, far fewer "citizens" in America's past than you might think.
I have, as a gun owner myself, nothing against people carrying. But those who carry and do not know what they are doing with the weapon (which is a hell of a lot of them), can't hit their target (which is even more of them), and don't know what a rightious kill is and isn't (which is practically all of them) aren't citizens because they carry, they are just 3 lbs. heavier.

Well, My God! You are only the second person I've run across who owns that book! congrats on your selection skills. but perhaps you might want to work on your interpretive and critical thinking skills. Surely you realize the quotation you cited has to do with arming RUSSIAN police and militia at a time that the Nazis had just swept through a third of the European part of the country and killed, raped, and maimed a chunk of the RUSSIAN population there? Why would it seem ODD to keep Russians willing to "police" their own citizens (in exchange for not being killed, being fed, and not having to freeze to death) unarmed?
You certainly aren't trying to draw a parallel to American issues of gun control with that situation, are you?

Semi-not sure where you drew the colonial/cowboy inferences from. I'd have to disagree with you on the incompetence of those who do carry. It has been my experience that those willing to jump through all the hoops to purchase and carry a firearm legally are also those with the greatest reverence for them, and typically are people who enjoy shooting them, and do so frequently.

I would agree that an untrained/incompetent firearm user could be a problem, but conversely I would suggest that it is more likely that a criminal would inherently be the untrained/inexperienced/incomp etent user, as opposed to someone who went through the trouble to leagally carry.
