Guns in restaurants draw stares but little outcry
The patrons at Champps, an upscale restaurant and bar chain, were eating ribs and drinking beer on a recent Saturday when customer Bruce Jackson stood up and made an announcement: He was armed, and so were ...

What about all the other rights that are being violated in this nation? As far as I'm concerned they haven't took your rights you still got your guns. I don't know why gun-owners are so afraid of their rights being tooken when every gun shot that finds it's target violates those peoples rights and destroys famlies on a daily basis! Gun boys, gun boys, what you going to do, what you going to do when they come for your blue. |

What you won't hear happening in that restaurant would be a sniper going in and killing people.

I wonder if they would have asked anyone else to leave. If they were not breaking the law isn't that discrimination?Wheres the aclu?

The criminals will always have guns and knives. And there will always be those who prey on others. For me, it's about my God given right to life and liberty. I am responsible for the protection of my life and that of my family. I hope you never come to figure that out the hard way. South v. Maryland, 59 U.S.(How.) 396, 15 L.Ed.433 (1856)(the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that local law-enforcement had no duty to protect individuals, but only a general duty to enforce the laws.); |

Wusses, go pull that stunt in a police station or an airport

Exactly. Wish I could wear my gun in public. Maybe on South Queen Street after 12 am. Possibly start to take back the streets, although I'm repeatedly told by the mayor that it's perfectly safe out there in da hood. |

Excuse me? The aclu? These were probably conservative law-abiding hard-working white people. |

You anti-gun folks just don't know what pro-gunners are aware of. Unless you too are followers of UN plan to disarm US. First.. destroy their economy, then disarm, then make them subjects.

Reminds me of what happened down here in S. Fla. many years ago. A couple of gun toting thugs tried to rob a local bar. Unfortunately for them, it was a cop hangout (after work beer type of place.) Did they get a surprise!!!! They are now enjoying the hospitality of the grey bar motel.

My father is 70 years old and carries a side arm EVERYWHERE he goes (I think he takes it off to go to church). I wish everyone carried a side arm, crime would fall significantly in our country.

Without the 2nd the other 9 amendments in the Bill of Rights are meaningless.

2nd Amendment notwithstanding, the REAL issue{s} here is that America's NOT a safe place to be in, that Americans [those who work, have families and something to lose] ARE scared of what's going on all around us, and the reality that we can NOT rely on law enforcement to arrive until after the fact dictate that some of us [actually, quite a few of us] carry firearms.
Though I live in Chicago, since I'm not allowed to carry a firearm [the Mayor insists that we register them, but, if we're not in law enforcement we can't register them], I'm presented with the choice of either breaking [what is an overly unconstitutional law] that law, or, being a victim in waiting. Well, I've made my decision, I'll expend 6 - if need be, and be tried by 12, rather than carried by 6. If some people want to be sheep - that's their...choice, but, don't expect me to walk around like a lamb-chop in waiting. |

We can always open our own establishments and put a sign on the door reading: No shirt, no shoes, no firearm - no service. You're either a part of the solution, or - you're a part of the problem. |

An armed person is a citizen, an unarmed person is a subject and victim in waiting. |

I just hope they follow the laws... In PA, you have to notify the establishment that you are carrying (usually the owner or manager), and you are not allowed to consume alcohol while in the possession of the fire arm.. I sure miss carrying my gun.. NJ is a whole other country when it comes to these laws...
