When they resurfaced Rushing between Dyer and Trans Mountain a couple of years ago they removed two vehicle lanes and replaced them with a center turn lane and bike lanes on both sides that are at least 5 feet wide. I travel that road almost daily and have still yet to see a bicycle using the bike lanes.

With the gas prices the way they are, bicycles, scooters, and motorcycles should become more popular. The sad thing is that El Paso is not very friendly to these vehicles. My brother got run of the road on his motorcycle by a car. I ride a bicycle for recreation and fitness and there hasn't been a ride were I wasn't almost hit. People don't pay attention.
