Amazing that these places do not maintain a recent photo of the residents.

This should be a requirement.

It is really weird that a man with the same name is in the obituary section the same day the story comes out. What the......

The person in the obits was 49. Possibly a son?

This is almost unbelievable that this facility where people are paying OVER $3000 a month for
residency and "care" don't have at least a
Polaroid photo .

How about a digital camera photo kept in
the computer next to his monthly payment record.

I hope they recover this man OK.

If all the publicized facts are correct,
this is a shame.

Golden Mesa is a high-dollar home for patients who have dementia/alzheimer's - how in the world could they let this happen? Even some of the low-dollar homes have polaroid pics of all of the patients on a bulletin board - whoever was in charge that night is sweating i'm sure.

Polaroid cameras aren't marketed anymore - I don't even think you can buy film for them now. Digital camera, computer, inkjet printout...surely the care facility has those items on hand.

Sadly, this is a backward area and one of the nursing homes did have polaroid pics handing up. As long as they're taking pictures of these folks, that's what is important.

Oops, please forgive me - I mean "hanging" not "handing". I hope that error doesn't get me strung up at one of the "hanging" trees. haha

Actually, it is not. Golden Mesa is a retirement village geared towards making life easier and more enjoyable for retired folks. Residents have access to entertainment, transportation, housekeeping, and meal preparation. There are no medical facilities or nurses on staff. Although residents are welcome to contract their own home health services, GM does not provide these services.

He's probably looking for his son who just passed away, my heart and prayers go out to the family.

According to the 10pm news (KTSM), he was reported to have taken a bus to Hotel Encanto vicinity and hasn't been seen since. I hope he was safe from the elements during the horrible storm that hit near the mall this afternoon. Hypothermia would be a horrible thing for anyone, especially one in his condition. They showed his picture too.

I concur...God bless & protect this gentleman.

PS: Hope your birthday was fantastic. I left you a note on the 4th Sound Off. ;-)

Oh, man! Now I HAVE to see if I can find it!

You said something about the sound off and I think that was the one I didn't read.

Thanx for the warm wishes and the heads up. Sweet.

I believe he is still missing and yes it was his son that was in the obituaries on the same day. Maybe its possible he was trying to get to his son. Bless his heart :( I hope they find him soon & that he is ok. Please keep an eye out everyone. I'm sure his family & friends are worried sick about him.
