Let's see...UTEP played against #24 Kansas and was smeared 34-7, UTEP played #2 Texas and was ****-slapped 64-7, next UTEP will play #12 Houston and will get crapped on. I wonder how many people will go see the train wreck at the Sun Bowl this Saturday. It's going to a very loooooooooooooooong season.
I will be there! I am a miner fan. The team needs and deserves support. If people don't believe, don't come.

how long are you going to support a team that hasn't won a bowl game in over 40 years?? im not wasting my money anymore on this university....and don't give me that whole "well you're just a bandwagon fan" bs either, i have been through the good and rough times, before '88 and after...but seriously what has this university done to warrant any merit of respect and money out of my hard earned money?? if you want to keep supporting a losing cause, by all means, do so...no one is stopping you but don't be p-issed at the ones that don't...why? well for my case, i've proven to be a good supporter to UTEP for over 25 years, until they prove to me they can do something good consistantly, i can't afford to be throwing away my money

i'd rather drive down I-10, roll down my window and throw 30 bucks out, or maybe go to my restroom and flush it down the toilet, because by you "supporting" the miners, you're pretty much doing the same thing....

fire mike price already!!

It's tough. I have my season tickets but can't support Coach Price any longer, seriously. I will not renew them next season as long as he remains a part of the team. This goes for his son also. How long will they allow him to coach here?!?

Coach Price needs to be fired ASAP and other heads need to roll as well. Price is no longer a worthy coach. His prime years of Coaching are gone! He is just in retirement mode collecting a nice check.
Bob Stull and Natalicio both need to open their eyes and see that they are being taken for a ride of their lives.

hey justice! long time no talk, told you it was gonna be bad, i think unfortunately price is gonna be here for awhile, UTEP invested way to much to hire him, giving him all sorts of perks (certain percentage of attendance...aka...season tickets) so even if you don't wanna support price, you already are every home game, even if you don't go, cause of those season tickets....not to mention he already has lots of money from the SI settlement, he doesn't have to coach anymore if he didn't want to....and to me....it looks like he's already got that mindset.....that's why i'll never buy season tickets, not to UTEP football anyway....its almost like getting a tattoo of your girlfriend only for her to break up with you the next day......

if you actually look at price's record, he really isn't that good of a coach. he's what you call a "one hit wonder" in the music business. He had two GREAT successful years with Wash St, got national coach of the year, but before that and after that, is whoa?!

in 14 seasons at wash st, he only had 3 10-win season, and overall had only 6 winning seasons, and out of those 6, 1 was a 6-5 season, the other 8 seasons he went a combined 30-59.....not exactly a remarkable record.....even all total years combined, he's got a 83-78 record there, only 5 games above .500.....it hasn't got better here in el paso. so back to my one hit wonder analogy...we basically got a used record of los del rio's "macarena".....but you know us el pasoans, we love the macarena.......stupid.

Good job with the stats. What is tragic is that UTEP has had so many crappy one win seasons that winning 4 or 5 games a year is considered a success. UTEP, not El Paso, but UTEP is satisfied with mediocrity. I'm trying to find out why UTEP doesn't just go for broke and hire a Mack Brown or a Pete Carroll or an Urban Meyer. If UTEP gets consistent 9 and 10 win seasons, ticket sales alone will pay the coach's salary. 50,000 tickets at a conservative $25 a head equals $1.25 million per game times 6 games equals $7.5 million. Not to mention T.V. rights and merchandising. Why must we settle for average? Bob Stull and Dr. Natalicio must demand nothing less than perfection because we've lived through so much crap we deserve nothing less.

the point is simple: El Pasoans are tired of having a losing football program and from this blog I can honestly tell you that we wouldn't mind paying high priced tickets to see a successful program, that is how much we love our Miners that we are willing to PAY to see our Miners bask in glory. This is not bashing this blog is more about frustrated loyal Miner fans that are at their wits end in cheering for a team that has not embraced their loyalty back. Sixty plus years of mediocrity is more than enough time to make the utmost loyal fan disheartened with his/her Miners. Wake up people this about a university taking full advantage of the loyalty and money of great fans and feeding us mediocrity because they know we will always be there filling the stands hoping for the best. Enough is enough it is time to stand our grounds and make the university realize that we will not be taken for granted anymore!

Hey Jay, wuz up?
Yeah, I remember his attendance perks very clearly. He banked on several of those games. I know I've technically supported him for the remainder of the season with the tickets regardless if I go or not. It's a lesson learned. If Price is still coaching next season, then that just proves Stull and the DR don't give a flying fuk about UTEP.

Dispite the fact that the Miners are not doing well, El Paso needs to support these young kids regardless. They do not need to hear all these negative cruel remarks. They are humans just like you with feelings. Have some respect for these kids, they already feel bad enough. It is easy to mouth off but remember, these young men would appreciate it better that if you don't have anything kind to say, then don't say anything at all. As for Mr. Price, voice your concerns to UTEP instead of insulting him like this. You people have no class.
LOL and you dont think the coaches verbally abuse them?
I think you are right! I think they are killing the team with kindness which is causing the team to play soft and laydown.

Class or not....I/we want to WIN.

Yes, it was embarassing to watch the debacle in austin but its even worse to hear what comes from the people on this blog. UTEP will ALWAYS have a hard time recruiting no matter who you bring to coach this program. Winning speaks volumes. Let me ask you this....Did any of you complain when the ticket fees went up after the 2 bowl season? And if you didn't, did you still go watch them in the Sun Bowl? The average ticket price to UT football was 70 dollars a piece and it still sold out!!!! Imagine that. It takes money and more importantly COMMUNITY SUPPORT to achieve a succesful program. The problem with El Paso is that they expect winners, look at the Diablos, Buzzards, etc. Nobody supports teams in EP once they start to lose. Think about that. Good Luck Coach Price and the UTEP Football team. This season is not over yet!!!!
When has UTEP ever had a winning tradition?
Since 2002, UTEP's football record is 34-51 with 2 winning seasons in a 7 year span.
UTEP is 5-6 in bowl games since 1936. 11 bowl games in 73 years!!
Since UTEP began its football program, do you know what they're overall W-L record is?

In order to support a winner, you have to be a winner.
You said it yourself "winning speaks volumes."
But UTEP doesn't win
Hard for El Paso to expect winners when the program isn't a successful program.
I dont think the city expects winners, I think ite because they are tired of losing for 30+ years
P.S. The season is OVER!

but i heard people want to black out the game, in other words wear black instead of orange......im going to do that!!! lets all wear black to the game....lets black out the stadium in showing disapproval of mike price......we demand better!!!!!!!!

When was UTEP's last bowl appearance? I know it during this crappy Price Era, but forgot. It was recent. I googled UTEP BOWL's and the only thing I got was Toilet's!

ha ha!! funny!!

yeah, their last bowl appearance was in 2005 against toledo in the gmac bowl....the last time they WON a bowl game was 1967 versus mississippi in the sun bowl..we're going on 43 years!!!!!!!...that's pretty bad.......can you believe UTEP beat Mississippi, TCU, FLORIDA ST!!!!! in bowl games?!?!? yeah.....*cough cough back in the 1950's *cough cough....boy i wish they could do that now, ha ha, who am i kidding...

whats sad is that all these mid majors are starting to make a case that they belong with the elite, cream of the crop because they have proven they can beat them.....while lowly UTEP is still searching for that first bowl win since 1967

Yeah, "Mark" Price really sucks!
