"She was hysterical, uncooperative and confrontational"

Sounds like my wife and most women! So she was acting normal!

Hopefully the homeowner and the insurance companies will put her through the ringer for the damage she caused. No doubt, her family and friends are rallying around her pronouncing "what a good person she is" and "this was a mistake" like most friends and family do. I guess if she kills someone then it will be more important! Hope she suffers where it counts most to her, in the pocketbook!

Don't worry, the civil case should destroy her.

Wonder who she knew? BRREZE hasn't said anything since the young man "stole" his dad's vehicle and crashed into the hangers at Torrance Airport (causing $10,000s worth of damage). I recall he was charged with "joy riding", think his dad must have known the mayor or someone on the police department.

It's frightening to know she was THAT drunk on a TUESDAY AFTERNOON. Probation for her is a joke, a total miscarriage of justice, and a slap in the face for the rest of us tax-paying, law-abiding citizens. I'm OUTRAGED! Why did the city prosecutors accept a plea bargain and drop the hit-and-run charge??? WHY??? It was an open & shut case where she could have spent time in jail where she belongs.

Attention All Drunk Drivers: It's okay to commit a hit & run felony in Redondo Beach because the city prosecutors will allow you to cop a plea.

UNBELIEVABLE ! As previously stated, if this should happen to any of us we will expect no, DEMAND probation.

Hit and Run, confrontational with the police, major damage to a person's property, what in God's name is the city prosecutor thinking accepting a plea bargain. Who does she know in the rank and file, just askin'

Probably because she's a cute white chick with tan lines. I don't know but I'm guessing.

If she was a hispanic or african-american male this story would have a different outcome.

what a messed up court system.
fyi the license was suspended for being 3 months behind in child support.

I thought I heard someone get their hand slapped. Should give her lawyer's name so other DUIers can get off easy too. What a sham.

If you believe so strongly about this, you and others should write letters to the city prosecutor and demand that these cases be prosecuted to their fullest extent. It doesn't do anything to be "outraged" on the DB blog!
Secondly, I'm sure there are reasons for why it went the way it did, maybe because there was reasonable suspicion to believe she was driving, and maybe no one was able to witness her behind the wheel during the actual incident. Just a guess.
There are actual reasons why a plea bargain would occur. I would look into it and ask questions before making such uneducated statements about incidents like this. Just a thought.

That's right, it's all about race. Hispanics and blacks always get much harsher sentences and are always convicted by whitey! Please. Who dresses you in the morning? This isn't the 1960's and there is more oversight and watch groups now than ever before. It just doesn't happen any more. Move on to your next excuse! The racew card has been played out. So many people making uneducated judgements on something they don't have all the facts on!

huh? so as a "tax-paying" citizen would you rather they spend more of your tax $$ to lock her up?

How is it possible that a drunk driver gets off with probation and doesn't immediately have her license suspended? What kind of a police force does RB have?

My brother was killed by a drunk driver who had been convicted 2 times before. This will probably happen again. Next time she and her victim won't be so lucky.
