I smoked for 15 years, Quit for 4 years, but have recently started again. One thing I have learned is this, if you smoke you will argue until purple in the face that it is ok. When you dont, or quit, you find smoking DISGUSTING!. Knowing just how nasty it smells and makes everyone around it smell, I truly hope to quit again soon, but until then, I will continue to only do it in my little dungeon in my house. We have 2 kids ( 2 and 11 ) either have EVER seen me smoke. Im gonna call 1-800- no- butts, right now, errrr wait gonna go hotbox one real quick lmao.

Smokers were never considered "rude" until the government put it into the minds of nonsmokers that they were endangering their livlihood. If this were 1988 instead of 2008, nobody would have a problem with public smoking. And as lifelong smokers, THIS is what angers us. We were regarded indifferently for decades,and literally overnight, in 1993, when the EPA announced that "secondhand smoke" was "deadly," we became social lepers; criminals, child abusers, selfish drug addicts, etc. Think of the Jews in 1930's Europe under the Third Reich and you'll get the idea.

I get what you are saying Bill. I love watching shows like I love lucy and The match game, smoking was the "norm". A lot of advances in technology are also to blame for numerous cancers, including lung... blaming smokers is just a cop out. However I dont think smoking should be done around kids, in bars where a person, an adult person chooses to go is ok by me.
