This is by far the worst movie theatre I have ever been to. There are always hoodlums milling - the past two times I've seen films there a group of people ran though the movie theatre through the back exit in the middle of the film. There is a major lack of a security presence and signs prohibiting baggy clothing and guns aren't enough.I'd rather drive out the suburbs through an hour of traffic than see a movie here and I will continue to do so.

Who ever robbed the theater are pathetic! Theaters are already not making much money due to people making boot leg copies of box office hits and even movies that haven't even premiered in the theaters yet. The individuals who commited the robbery should just turn themselves into the police because they're really pathetic for committing such a crime and of all the places a movie theater!!!!!!

I think that this is a problem endemic to most movie theatres regardless of whether it's in the city or subrurbs. I can recall a few near riots at some area suburban mall theatre locations. For some reason, multiplexes tend to draw the wrong element. This may sound elitist, but as long as the movie industry churns out the lowest common denominator type of feauture, you're always going to draw some very bad apples. Also, if the theatres are determined to appeal to as wide of a cross-section of society as possible, they need to have the necessary security in place.

Just when you thought that $6.00 for a bag of popcorn was the only robbery occurring at moveie theaters, this happens.

Yea, I really wish they would start robbing nursing homes and churches. Those owners of expensive franchise movie theaters charging $10/movie are certainly worthy of our pity.

Sorry, Ben, but my Batmobile and Batcycle have been towed since the last time I was downtown. I would take the train in from the Batcave, but with all the funding problems and scheduling mess, I am stuck riding a bicycle with all the other immigrant Mexicans. Viva y vaya, mis hermanos!

I've been to this theatre many times and not once have I sat through a movie without at least 20 people on their cell phones chatting, texting, whatever. Clearly, no security staff ever sets foot in the theatres during a movie. And now I can be robbed? Thank God for Netflix!

Neil, you are an idiot. Young blacks are not the only ones committing crime in this city, and it is suburbanites like you that perpetuate that view of our youth. You need to wake up. Have you seen the city lately? Most projects are torn down and the remaining ones are slated to go soon. Should we move the residents to Mount Prospect? I guess you NIMBY suburban people would have a problem with that so perhaps you should let us city dwellers figure this one out.

The problem is the young blacks who hang out in that area to commit crime. If the city would hurry up and finish demolishing the projects, maybe this wouldn't be as big of a problem.
How would that 'solve' the crime problem? Just asking...

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but robberies seem to be up in general. How many times a week now do you hear of a strip mall bank being robbed, and not just in a city setting? I'd say a good deal more than you did about 10 years ago. There could be a great many reasons for this (and I'm no expert, so I won't bother you with my thoughts), but all I know is that it's starting to remind me a bit of what I've read about the '30's crime sprees that spawned Dillinger, Bonnie & Clyde, etc.

I feel bad for those employees. What a traumatic experience. (In a way, I almost hope they were in on it so they don't have to live with such a terrifying memory.)

I've been to this theatre many times, and it's no better or worse than others in terms of the crowd. Then again, I don't see painfully stupid movies, which are the ones seen by a painfully stupid crowd.

To recap: The Darjeeling Limited will not be filled with knuckleheads, while Transformers might just be.
