Get real. This isn't to "enlighten" us, it is meant to indocrinate us. One more measure to take over the world and get rid of all of us infidels. I'm a Christian, butI believe in "Freedom" of religion- that includes freedom from others trying to convert me - or force me into their religion.
Giving you a book to read is not forcing you to convert to their religion. All of us high and mighty Americans are afraid of a few words on a page. Your paranoia is showing.

If you're going to throw the material out and reject the opportunity to educate yourself about what your neighbors believe -- at least recycle it.

Muslims are not the problem! Christians are not the problem! Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists; none of them are the problem! The problem is people who realize that they can exploit people of strong faith in any number of different ways, be it hoodwinking them out of their life savings in the name of God, or convincing them to be a suicide bomber in the name of Allah.
99.9% of all people of faith (and people in general I would suggest) are good people who just want to live their lives the way they see fit and let others do the same. The Problem is the other 0.1% who do everything they can to screw over the rest of us for their own selfish reasons. What religion or ethnicity or sexual orientation they are is simply coincidental and is never the root of the problem.
I'm disturbed by the amount of ignorance and venom on this board.
Totally agree. Spewing this hate is really disgusting. I live in a different suburb and I received one on my door. I put it on my bookshelf. If I decide I dont like what it says I will ask them to pick it back up.

That's the great thing about living in the United States.
Religious freedom. For all religions not just Catholics or Baptists or whatever your religion of choice.

It's funny your dumb butt called her and idiot and you dont know the difference between "Allah/God" and "Jesus".
You made the dumbest post of the day.
Muslims and Christians believe in the same God but have different prophets, Christians have Jesus and Muslims have Muhammad. However God is God in both religions. What the lady was saying was she doesnt believe in "Muhammad" but accepts "Jesus".
I'm not sure about that. I think that many Christians think Jesus IS God. Not just a prophet. I find that confusing because I thought it was generally accepted that there is only ONE God by all the major religions. Her statemnt wasn't very clear. I took it as if she was saying she believes Jesus Is God. I think the previous person was correct, although he shouldnt have called the woman a name..

<quoted text> Hey, that's not a bad idea! But seriously, I hope that people do read the Koran so that they see for themselves what a twisted religion Islam is. One of my favorite parts is the part where it says that Jews and Christians are the lowest scum of the earth (sorry, no citation). Islam is not a religion of "peace." This is obviously apparent in the real world-- but, when you read the Koran, it is really eye opening because it makes you realize that it is not just a few crazies giving Islam a bad name; violence and intolerence are inherent to their "holy book."
I wonder which "holy book" these come from:

44 " 'Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.(Leviticus 25:44-46)

2 "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.
5 "But if the servant declares,'I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,' 6 then his master must take him before the judges.[a] He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life.
(Exodus 21:2-6 )

If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[b] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.(Exodus 21:7-11 )

20 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.(Exodus 21:20-21)

The Muslim Religion also believes that Jesus was a prophet, as well as many others, he just wasn't the only one, and that Muhammad comes before Jesus.
The postings above only highlight the plight of the faith...that people should educate themselves if they want to. You don't hear the Muslims stating that they would pitch the Bibles and The Book of Mormon in the street, or using it for toilet paper. I personally have a book of faith in several religions, and am well versed in many faiths, because I refuse to comment on something I know so little about, or spew hatred forth amongst my fellow Americans.
Peace!
Thoughtful post Michelle. I gree with you. I would like to read it just to understand the religion better. It bothers me how hypocritical and hateful so called "Christians" can be. I have read the bilble or parts of it plenty of times so nothing wrong with reading the Quran to better your understanding.

For the person that said free toilet paper,Please don't talk like that.If you don't want the free copy just take it to a local library. I'm sure they will make good use of it.I got a free copy and I feel it's no different than Jehovah's Witnesses ringing your doorbell. At least they don't bother you.
I don't like any wasted paper or advertising putting me in a position where I am increasing the cost of garbage removal and disposal.

There was a portion of this article that was incorrect in what was said. The woman said she believed in Jesus not Allah. Allah means God, if she is a Christian then she believes in God, as well. It is about time we start understanding that Islam adds to what Christians believe not starts something new. Christians stop at Jesus Christ, who we do believe in, we continue on with our prophets.
The statement of the woman quoted in the aricle shows how ignorant people really are.. She said she doent belive in "Allah" but that is just another word for "God".. silly but she would be adamant about that I'm sure..

This is the USA where we are free to believe in any religion that does not undermine our government, advocates killing of others or sacrificing animals and that also means we are free not not believe in any or all god or gods. We are by ethics expected to respect others by not pushing our religious beliefs or lack of them down their throat. So keep your private beliefs out of my face and out of my tax costs.

<quoted text> Boy, I was just waiting for the short-sighted anti-Christian to bring this up! Whenever you hear about the disgusting things that Muslims have done throughout their history, someone says "yeah, but the Christians had the Crusades." Also, don't forget about the inquisition. Other than the fact that these things ocurred between 500 and 1000 years ago, you need to consider the history and motivations. For the most part, it was the civil authorities, not the Church, who punished witches and were responsible for the Inquisition. The same can be said for the Crusades (plus the "evilness" of the Crusades is grossly exagerated considering it was the Muslims who took over the Middle East). But, the most important distinction is this: the Koran specifically condones violence, whereas Jesus taught a message of peace and tolerance.
some southern baptist preachers and ministers wore hoods and burned crosses at night. That wasn't 500 years ago..
