Don't take this the wrong way. I'm a Cavemen supporter all the way. I was a Cavemen and I'm proud of it, but this team does not deserve an 11, 12 or any seeding in the playoffs what so ever. 4-6, 0-2 in district and two district blowouts.....Mmmm I don't think so. Time to put this season out of it's misery. Let's not embarrass these kids anymore by putting them in the playoffs to face another really good team that they don't have a hope in hell of beating.

this season should be over.... if the cavemen get invited to the state playoffs, i feel sorry for them. Do they really need another 40 point beatdown to show how mediocre they are? what happend to the legitimacy of the state playoffs anyway? i remember when the best eight teams in the state battled it out for the title.... now it seems that all you need to do is have a football team with decent equipment and your in the playoffs...

"Enough" and "Love"

Are going to apply for the job, if they let A go?

You seem to know it all?????

Maybe you have the. solutions?

My guess is, you will not. You know you have to have a degree etc to teach? Being a grunt in the oil field, does not count!

Of course they wont! The offense is actually great but hate to say this the defense sucks big time... Gino needs to be released. When I played we won border then got our ****'s handed to us once we got to varsity (early 90's). Get a d-cord that knows what he is doing and the cavemen will be in the hunt.

Carslbad does not deserve a playoff spot with out a district win. The school needs to get rid of all the football varsity coahes and start with a new staff. The Cavemen can not continue to lose every district game every year. Time for change.

I have no idea how a team with no district wins could be in the playoffs. I like coach A, but he needs to be honest as far as his team deserving to be in the playoffs.

I hope the committe who makes such decisions does not look to you guys for advice. Do I think there are big problems with cavemen football?- yes I do. Do the coaches need to go?- probably. But guys like (buddyc), who cant read between the lines will end up firing everyone, and moving Stevens to head coach (Offensive cord.) Over the last few years it was our defense that kept us in games. Which is why I cant understand why Gino got the job this year- Ron was doing fine, defense wasn't the problem!! It was our offense that was absolute puke! And now after 1 season of decent offense (Stevens is a genius). His offense was loaded with senior talent that had 3 years of varsity experience. Take Galindo off the team, and how productive would the offense be. Maybe next year you'll get to see, and you'll be calling for Stevens head too.

I have nothing against stevens: in fact he does a decent job calling plays- the cavemen program just does a horrible preparing the next generation- its a "learning" process every time you lose a senior.
The spread offense work well in the right program. Because so much depends on the QB.(it even took Galindo 3 yrs to get good at it.) If you want to be productive with the spread you have to pick a QB in 7th grade and have him run your offense and throw about 5000 passes before he becomes the varsity starter. Kinda like our neighbors up north do.

I would give my right arm if I could apply for the job. I would enjoy coaching this well deserving CAVEMEN. But do you honestly think they would hire a WOMAN. I have been with them for the past 5 years trying to help and do anything that I could to support them, football is my life. My son plays more for me then for himself. True CAVEMEN fan!!

Realist if the Cavemen offense didnt average 32 points a game then I would say Stevens should go. He knows how to run an offense plain and simple! Gino took the defense and well what can I say ruined it plain and simple! Stevens know what the heck is going on but they need somebody that knows D! How can you average 32 a game and then lose like they do. It is the D Arrington needs to pay attention too.... If Stevens wasnt producing then yeah he would need to go! I have followed Stevens throughout his coaching career if he has the athletes he does produce alah 32 a game come on now that is awesome! I know it sounds like I am a homer but I am not Stevens is a genius when it comes to football!

the New Mexico State Championship is a joke..... apparently everyone should get a chance to be in the playoffs, no matter the record or district wins!!!! why even bother having a regular season or district games since they have no meaning. Good luck to the Cavemen cuz they are going to need it. Hopefully they dont get embarassed in Las Cruces.

Wake up lil buddy c all that counts are wins, something the cavemen can not get especially the big wins and district wins. stevens rode coat tails to get in- good old boy system- so the cavemen can score points so what they lose. They need coaches who have been there and done that. stevens did not play college ball and the high school ball he played was not good. Carlsbad deserves minority coaches who were good in football. Go get coaches from El Paso or Las Cruces. Onate is going to beat Carlsbad easily, and if coaching changes are not made get used to losing Carlsbad. If the same coaching staff is back next year expect the same results a losing season and no district wins. Is it a carlsbad law that minorities can not be head football coaches and is it also a carlsbad law that the football team must not win a district game. Plain and simple get new coaches that played well in thier days of football and hopefully carlsbad can turn things around. Doesn't Carlsbad get tired of losing year after year with the good old boy system. Once you leave carlsbad your skin color does not matter look at all the major sports and you will see that. Time for carlsbad to get out of the fifties and into the future of winning
