Full story: Carlsbad Current-Argus

The downturn in the national economy has caught up with Carlsbad. The Connection call center is closing its doors, leaving about 100 people without jobs and increasing the city's unemployment rate.

Give me a break. You apparently are living in Piss-n-moansville. From what I have read recently in the paper, Cbad loses 100 mostly part time reception jobs (which were originally meant to replace lost mining jobs!) and replaces them with a minimum of 65 well paying manufacturing jobs from Hawaii and a bunch in the expanding potash, wipp, and health care industries.
Haha what **** rock have you been living under buddy?

Im sure %80 of them will sit on their butts and milk unemployment forever and not even make any attempt to better themselves.
That's funny that you say that considering that you have to report that you are looking for a job along with contact information for confirmation. So correction you can't sit on your butt jerkface.com , you have to look for work. I'm part of the 20% that will be looking for work immediately, I have completed a resume and have applied to a few places and will have another job soon. If you're a connection employee right now I wish you the best of luck and was a pleasure working with you. Good luck in your futures. Peace!!!

So, Mayor Bob...pay attention now...THE MAYOR OF THE CITY...just found out that the Connection is gonna close? Sounds like Mayor Bob only cares about selling tires and little else. He says one thing, but it comes across more like "Oh...you're gonna close (wink!)? I realy wish they would have (yawn!) let us know sooner so we (yawn!) could've done something about it." That is just 1 of the reasons that my beloved Carlsbad has been surpassed by Roswell, Hobbs, and even Artesia...sad.
Ok it is time for us to do something about Carlsbad, we will have to get out and vote for a new mayor. We want someone that is not one of the "good old boys" someone that really cares about the community. As for the Carrol(sp) I tried to do business with them they don't deal. Went to Artesia and they were more than happy to work with me, good job Guy Chevro. I also don't like what is happening to our community, servers that look like gangsters, rudness, you name it no wonder people like to go out of town to eat and shop. I love my town but it needs a lot of help but we all have to work at it.

On behalf of the great Management that The Connection has GOOD LUCK getting confirmation that The Connection knows who you are let alone the dates you worked there. I have had to do background checks on past employees and they just seem to forget that you had ever worked there. But according to many the Management is the best ever at The Connection.
