Tillman showing flashes at Bowie

As a pitcher at the Double-A level who turned 20 last month, the only consistencies in Chris Tillman's professional life are the effusive praise and lofty expectations that follow him from one ballpark to the ...

He will be up in the Majors but the All star game next year I bet... unless he is traded for a big bat.

I don't see it being that fast, our plan is to let the kids go through the proper steps now. We nearly ruined Cabrera and Penn by snatching them out of the low minors before their time. It is much better to get them proper time at each level and even some failure at AAA (to see how they adjust) before they are promoted to the big club.

I would like to see the Orioles use their young pitchers in the bullpen at first, the way the Orioles use to do things when Jerry Hoffberger owned the team. Let them gain some experience in the majors as long relievers and spot starters before being placed in the rotation. If Loewen can come back and make some positive improvement and remain healthy they could make a deal using Burris and maybe Jamie Walker and get a solid everyday player, hopefully one who bats right and has a little power.

The players we turned from the Cubbies for Brian Roberts are going through the roof. Damn shame MacPhail held out for that one last guy. Oh well, you can't win them all and he's already done better than I ever expected of him in both of his deals.

The Indians are apparently interested in B-Rob these days but - so far as I can tell - have nothing to offer us in return. Their farm system appears to be a mess, but I suppose I'll be a studmuffin and let the scouts make that decision.
