Tired of the three-ring circus that is Asheville

Comments on Topix forums : Every time I turn around in Asheville, something in the news makes me a bit more embarrassed to admit I am a resident here.

Dear John, get with the program. Asheville is about diversity. Since the turn of the century Asheville has been known for it's bohemian flavor and oddities. There has always been an inordinate amount of gay folks and artists in this town It is one of the attractions to the area. Granted, "tree girl" and all her little loser "witches" borders on comedy and absurdity but again thats Asheville. I bet Old Fort or Marion would be more suited to your liking.

yes, johnny boy needs a change of scenery. maybe selma, alabama might be a better place for his attitude. any place that is intolerant of people exercising their constitutional rights of free speech and assembly would be a good fit for him. good luck johnnyboy!!!!

John, so sorry I didn't invite you to the gay parade. I really didn't think it would cause this level of anger. Just sent the invitation to the gay sing-along so I sincerely hope all is forgiven.

It's a metaphor for the recent activity in his bedroom.

I remember them having one when 'My Fellow American's" was being filmed here and was used in the moving picture with Lemmon and Garner right in the middle of it. Ends up in the story line, one of the paraders was on vacation and was a sharp shooter for the Secret Service---(I think thats how it went)

Anyhow the Parade was held in 1995 or so. Haven't heard of one since.....?

I am in FL fulltime and would give my eye teeth to live in Asheville where I was born and raised. Bohemian and never boring, it's known for it's diversity and joie de vive. John, stop complaining and relax or buy my house!!!

people, just let asheville be what it is, rather than your silly ideas of what it should be.
we have enough cookie cutter cities (old navy, bed bath beyond, starbucks cities). when somewhere is different than the norm, thats a good thing. what you should be complaining about is the monotonous and boring
