Obama is one helleva dangerous guy. He does a good job of delivering a speech provided it’s written by someone else and provided he has time to rehearse it. Otherwise, he appears uncertain, searching for words and generally seems confused. The church he attended for 20 years, Trinity, has it’s roots in Black Liberation Theology. Black Liberation Theology is based on black power, socialism and Marxism. You’ve seen the Reverend Wright videos. This guy was Obama’s mentor - a man he looked up to. Obama attended this church and listened to this guy preach this stuff for 20 years. You do not do that unless you believe in it. He conveniently resigned from the church when it became apparent that his continued membership would hurt him politically. Black Liberation Theology believes that everyone should be equal - no wealthy class, no poor class. A large, central government would bring about equality by determining what everyone needs and providing it to them. If that sounds somewhat familiar to you, it should. It’s called Communism and it has failed anywhere and everywhere it’s been tried. Look at the friends Obama surrounds himself with. It’s tough to find any who are not corrupt, violent, subversive, anti-American or racist. Nearly every day a new questionable character pops up from Obama’s life . The question to ask is why is this man attracted to this type of character. Look at Obama’s voting record. Both in the Illinois State Senate and in the US Senate, he has failed to vote on hundreds and hundreds of issues. Listen to how he likes to say “I did not vote for……..“ He says that to make you think he voted against whatever issue he is speaking about. The truth is he seldom votes “against” or “for” anything. He simply doesn’t vote. And he never, never votes either way on any issue or legislation that is the least bit controversial. Obama is perhaps the greatest threat facing this nation today. If those who can see no deeper than the emotional rhetoric of this man walk blindly into the polls this November and manage to elect him, he will bring this country to its knees as it has never been before.

Why does Obama want to impose additional taxes on oil, gas and coal companies when it is well known that business s pass these additional costs on to consumers in the form of higher retail prices for gasoline and home heating oil?

Why does Obama want to give drivers’ licenses to illegal immigrants?

Why does Obama want to provide illegal immigrants with free healthcare?

Why does Obama want to block additional drilling for oil and advocate wind and solar power which are not proven to be technologically adaptable for wide scale use?

Why does Obama want to put the brakes on nuclear power when the rest of the world is embracing it and getting as much as 80 percent of their electric power from it?

Why does Obama want to send billions of our tax dollars to Africa and other foreign places to help alleviate poverty when there are American Citizens living in poverty and suffering hunger here in the United States?

Why does Obama want to raise income tax rates, the capital gains tax, the social security tax and reinstate the estate tax when these measures will hurt small businesses and the elderly living on their life savings?

Pretty one sided judgment there. You should see the list of questions I've read online about McCains past and policies. You want to talk about flip flopping? McCain takes the flipflop crown this election. I can personally answer your oil drilling ?. The reason is because the cost of finding the oil around the U.S. coasts far outweighs the less than 5% of American product we'd get in return. That and the fact that when we DID drill, we had a few rather dangerous oil spills that the cost of recovering from also far outweighed the cost of getting the oil. Producing oil on the U.S. coasts is, and unless an expedition gets very lucky to find a ton, just not worth the time and money being put into it. Meanwhile, new wind power technologies are getting more efficient and cheaper to produce by the day, making them a safer, and potentially BETTER alternative.

Do you know for a fact he writes none of his speeches? The man went to Harvard. I'm sure he's capeable of writing eloquent speeches.

God forbid there be equality in this country. There's always going to be a wealthy class and a poor class. We are a Capitalist country. If Bush couldn't destroy that completely in the last 8 years, then I HIGHLY doubt Obama will bring about Communisim. I think the "equality" part of Black Liberation Theology when you look at it is that all people are equal no matter of race or creed. They're no more ridiculously fundemental than Baptists and Falwell followers and we elect those people to government positions.

It's still around today.

And when they do pass them on, the oil companies look bad. Especially when they're making high profits. It's a strategy to ween us off oil. Do tax breaks for businesses really help the economy? Lets compare our economy today with that of the 90's.
[QUOTE who="benjee"]Why does Obama want to give drivers’ licenses to illegal immigrants?.
Where did he say that? Back your comments up. That was something that the state of NY tried to pass.
benjee wrote:

Again, back up your comments. I can't find where he supports that anywhere.

Perhaps because eventually, oil will run out. Our dependance on oil is great and we will need alternative energy. Look at how crippled our country has been in the last year due to high oil prices. Previous Presidents have done nothing. It's called being proactive.

Yes, nuclear power has been proven to be effective. However, being the state of the world as volitle as it is, they are also targets for terrorism. The more plants, the more targets. If one is hit, that's irrevokable damage to citizens, plant life and living areas. Look at Chernobyl. How long ago was that and people still cannot enter the area without being exposed to radiation.

Why did George Bush start a war in Iraq when billions of dollars could be spent improving our country with scholarships and hunger here? I also can't find anywhere where Obama said that he wants to send $ to Africa. However, we've been providing help to other nations for years. That's nothing new. The poor in America are nothing like the poor in Africa. You have millions of children growing up without families due to losses from AIDS and other diseases. These African children grow up and join terrorist organizations. Wasn't the point of Iraq to cut down on terrorism? If we can provide help to African governments for education and such doesn't that do the same thing?

Yes, he will raise income taxes. In fact, so will McCain (check figures listed most recently in the Washington Post). However, the ONLY people affected by his "substantial" income tax increases are those making over $250,000 annually, which I highly doubt you do as it's literally 15% of Americans. If you look at the figures, you'll actually notice you'll be getting money back. The elderly living on their life savings fall into an income bracket that is obviously protected by the government. I suggest you look at the tax plans of EACH candidate more carefully and ACTUALLY QUOTE FACTS before you post this insane crap.

It's simple supply and demand. Southeast Asians can now afford cars. That's 1/3 of the world's population. OPEC has quotas therefore the supply does not change. An increase in demand = an increase in price.

If we can supplement our energy needs with alternatives, demand goes down as does the price of oil.

Or, we can continue using oil, the price will still rise - regardless of taxes, and when it eventually becomes a necessity and oil is only attainable by the wealthy, THEN we will resort to alternatives.

No one has shown any facts on how McCain will be better. Until I see those, I'm a REPUBLICAN for OBAMA.

Thank you Law Cat, you have provided the entire response which clarified the scare tactics the typical anti-Obama group continue's to spew...much appreciated and yes, as a Republican I will also go with my gut feeling that Barack Obama is a good man who has more empathy for the common man than McCain and cast my vote for Obama.....
