When will the MLS learn that they need to develop a standard of play/training similar to Europe. Right now our best young players need to be developed in Europe. A young player is a fool if he thinks he will develop here in the MLS.
Until owners of MLS teams have the passion of a Mark Cuban, the MLS and the US National will be what????Second level items in World Cup play

You can't reasonably expect it to have the talent pipeline and infrastructure that European leagues with a century of history and nearly endless financial resources have. MLS has made spectacular progress in 12 short years. The current state of the league and the talent of players it's producing and importing should warm any American soccer fan's heart.

I'm happy with the way the U.S. has played Mexico in the last decade, especially considering that many of the home games have "away" crowds, but I'll feel better if/when the U.S. can go to Azteca and come out victorious. That's been the huge stumbling block.

But when the games are over, their team heads back to Mexico. That's why Mexico will never truly win.

OK Wolfgang... why don't you just cut a check for $1 billion to the MLS to put it on equal footing with EPL, then you'll get action NOW! Otherwise, be patient. MLS is still building stadiums. Still adding teams. Still bringing in new fans. Steadily improving television rights contracts. Building corporate sponsorship relationships. These things take time. Expecting it to happen overnight is foolish (that's the kind've thinking that bankrupted NASL and killed pro soccer in the US for two decades). MLS is doing it right. Just go to the games and enjoy watching the league grow and improve. It'll be more gratifying that way.
