I watched the game, and Yuna Kim was absolutely excellent.
Her short and free skating was so perfect, and it was not surprising when she beated the world record and gained 207+ points. Well done.!!

NBC devoted only 2 hours to this competition !! Our athletes deserve more than this !! Evan Lysacek wins the gold, Tanith and Ben take the silver and NBC shows 2 hours of womens coverage. Whats wrong with this picture ?? Give the tv rights back to ABC - they have shown all of the competitions in past years, not just a lousy 2 hours. Yu Na was awesome but the rest were pretty lackluster...Sasha needs to come back and bring her QUAD and triple/triple combinations with her - no one , not even Yu Na Kim, can beat Sashas artistry !!! Maybe Michelle will make it back too- those 2 are our only hopes for a medal because the current skaters are not up to world class standards by any means. Czisny is a train wreck and Flatt- although consistent- lacks any spark or excitement. See ya in Vancouver !!

Ordinarily I would make a joke about how I had not seen such artistic, femine skating since the Blackhawks last game, but now they are good so I can't!

BRING BACK THE STANLEY CUP!!!

We have been watching her for quite some time on Korean TV. She seems very mature for her age, and has that indefinable "Star" quality to her. Congradulations to her!

BTW,everything I see on KBS,SBS,MBC calls her "Yu Na" in translation.

I loved seeing Yu Na's reaction in the Kiss & Calculator area. NBC did not do a very good job of showing the scores and it hard to keep up as a result. As for Czisny, I can't see the USFSA giving her another chance, the next time she might end up costing us two spots. I can't watch her anymore, she's like the Chicago Cubs on ice. Also, Rachel Flatt is in dire need of a makeover, She's got the mental makeup of a champion but her skating could cure insommnia.

BTW, Tatiana Tarasova is ruining Mao Asada. In the past skaters could get away with using music as background noise for jumps but not anymore. Yu Na and Joannie have made that a thing of the past. Mao needs to go Lori Nichol or David Wilson ASAP. I think the dumbing down of her programs for jumps has been a disaster. She only wins if Yu Na makes a mistake, that a huge problem.

In the last two Olympics the world champ the year before has failed to win the Gold Medal the year after. Tara Lipinski was the last to do so in 1998. In 2001, Michelle Kwan was the Word Title but Sarah Hughes won Gold. In 2005, Irina Slutskaya won the worlds and Shizuka Arakawa won the Gold. So I don't think we can say with absolute certainty that Kim Yu-Na can pick up Gold next year. So many things change for these skaters and many seem to get injuried at the worst possible time. Hopefully, this doesn't happen to her because she short program was awesome.

Cziney won the National Title and by the rules for the USFSA she was quarnateed a spot. It's too bad she is so hot and cold. When she is on she is excellent but when she isn't it's awful to watch. Our best hope seems to be Rachael Flatt.

ABC probably doesn't want the coverage anymore. It is not the money maker it used to be. I would of perferred to see the men's or ice dancing on primetime coverage if they could only pick one instead of on late at night over on Oxygen.

Next year if Czisny only lands three triples in her free skate like she did at this years Nationals they will not give her the same generous PCS scores that gave her the title. Ashley Wagner is our best hope, she won the free skate at Nationals but had a bad short. She has the power and the tricks to compete against the best and is usually pretty consistent. I think her and Rachel are the best bets. Caroline Zhang and Mirai Nagasu simply do not have the power to get the big scores, speed is key.

Czisny landed 3 (maybe 2)triples at Nationals. Should she even had been at Worlds. They gave her that title and that's too bad but it's not her fault. It would be nice I guess if Sasha and Michelle came back but Sasha doesn't have a quad or 3/3 in arsenal. She can probably do the 3/3 but she's only done them once in competion and she never did the quad. I don't know if Michelle can get her trusty beautiful 3/3 back at this point.

to Dee - I have seen Sasha land a Quad in practice sessions...yes she has done it but never in competition...actually I think she did try it once in a competition... anyways -she was a whole lot better than the current crop !!!

Alissa bombed. It is as simple as that. I wonder what the feeling is like at USFSA now.

Even me, a die hard Mao fan has to give it to Yuna. She won hands down. I DO think the judges were a little generous with her. I mean, her programs were great, but were they the best I've ever seen any woman do under the new scoring system? And by THAT much? I'm not sure. I am disappointing to see Mao finish all the way in 4th. Something went wrong with her this season. I don't know if it's her coach, choreography, or what. Maybe it's a combination of all that. I do know that she didn't look as at ease before both her short, and her long as she usually does. She can turn it around next season though. Mao, and Yuna are still the ones to beat next season in my book.

I was happy for Alissa when she won nationals, but she did what I feared, and hoped she wouldn't do at worlds. I'm not worried about this happening again though. I believe someone else will win nationals next year. If Sasha or Michelle don't come back, Rachael is our best hope. She's not my fav, but she has been the most consistent, and reliable so far. I hope Caroline, and Marai can step it up. They're my fav US ladies.
