An accident-plagued stretch of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge saw its first fatality Monday when the driver of a speeding big rig lost control and the truck plummeted 200 feet from the span, authorities said.

40 crashes in about 2 months at the same spot. that is a design flaw. don't let cal trans fool you.. they are just trying to cover themselves from lawsuits that may arise.

also take a look at the bay bridge closure due to falling pieces of the bridge. they said it will take two days.. by friday and then they say by the beginning of next week .. hiding under the pretense of safety. more like they did not know what the hell they are doing..

Yeah, youre right they probably dont know what theyre doing. Those bridge engineers are the dumbest clucks going. CalTrans probably hired them in Walmart parking lot. You ought to go right down there and tell them how to do it.

No one mentions whether this poor fellow may have momentarily dozed off. Only the witnesses can explain. And if so, even traveling LESS than the posted speed limit could result in such an accident.
