If our schools gave an adequate education folks like Nanaimo Bill would not get suckered into scams like global warming.

What research, show me a published report or study in a reputable scientific journal that has been peer reviewed that supports your claim and i will show you a thousand that refute it. My money is on NASA, NOAA, National Geo. Scientific American and the vast majority of scientist world wide that believe global warming is real. Of course it is your perogative to believe a few Scientists that have been bought by industries that don't want change. ( A quick internet hint, using all capital letters is considered bad form)

Why don't we just go on strike against the car companies and the filthy rich gas monsters. They are the ones who are getting filthy rich off of all of us, especially those people who keep on buying huge cars and driving solo everyday. How many of you actually use your big SUV, gas guzzling machine for what it was designed for? Sports Utility Vehicles were made to take the family out to play. Cross country fun with the gang and/or family. Take a look the next time you hit the road. How many vehicles out there have passengers? Take a look at the SUV's. The majority are solo drivers. Man has already shown its capability of returning back in time to the world each time he gets in his SUV. Once on the road the reptilian brian takes over. Don't you know we have already entered into the next predicted ice age? I gather the end of mankind is what follows. Is it that hard to keep use of energy and the planets elements to a minimun? Think about the future of your family's families the next time you switch on a light and then leave the room, before driving down to the corner store, before you get on the road home think about carpooling. Just think how nice it would be for your kids children to live to see their children grow-up. Is it that hard not to be wasteful? It doesn't matter if global warming is BS or real. Why do you need a reason just to be considerate and kind to the earth? She supplies man with air, food, heat, light, water, fuel..... Earth has taken generations of abuse - why do you need a reason to be loving to the land you stand on? You made some very good points. Thanks for your post.

I am sure Ford will be pleased to know they are filthy rich. If the auto companies had the ability to influenc the market the way some critics suggest, why are there so many flops in the history of cars? I suppose there are some folk with a stable of cars from which to pick the one most compatible with the day's activities, but most of us need to buy one car to handle all our needs. Most people are also aware of the cost of owning and operating a car. To write contemptuously of car owners as if they are mindless fad followers is arrogant beneath contempt.

Mr Giblets wrote: <quoted text> being taught false theories as facts is another big problem. Indoctrination is wrong Too true: sadly there are very few scientists left in employment in the UK able to do anything other than confirm dogma. I am emigrating after being ordered & shut down @ state level. I also refused the orders & as a result vast numbers of illegal immigrants locally are now being roped into the low wage box humping that I rejected. ps. I feel that the mass import & export of people causes more global warming than the transport of employed to & from adress close to permanent employer would do. I also do note that this interglacial has its rate of change altered by the heat & also note that previous glacial periods occur when climate mode #4 becomes permanent after loss of the N.Atlantic drift(that's Gulf stream to us). Mode #4 forces a PERMANENT El Nino & all the precipitation preferentially lands on the US. E.coast & Baffin, Rain in S. Snow in N. Seems like Arnie is a bit upset about living in El Nino conditions. One of many reasons that domestic manufacturers are having so many problems is that instead of spending money on R&D when new smog and Cafe mileage standards come out they spend it on lobbyists and lawyers. While Detroit wastes its' time Japan and Europe are busy meeting the standards not to mention the fact that they build more reliable vehicles. Detroit needs to wake up and compete.

Businesses that don't have lawyers and lobbyists suffer - just ask Microsoft. Check on what happened to the Corvair. Then check what happened to the Bug.

Lawyers are like accountants: every business should heve either one or a team, but like accountants, they should not dictate managerial policy to the exclusion of company viability.
Remember Henry ford's response to the complaint by the accounts department about their office being too small.
In the case of the lawyers in the USA they have left the country static & smog bound & destroyed the healthy reserves base, & you now wonder why the poor & the health conscious buy eco freindly?

My first engineering job 50 years ago was measuring and abating air pollution for American Potash and Chemical Company. I am amused by those who believe they are the first virtuous people ever. I wait with bated breath the recognition that the warmie predictions are as valid as, say the malthusian predictions or the Luddite predictions or the Marxian predictions.

Congratulations: Anybody in the Uk responding to quality monitoring jobs in the UK after graduation post 1998 found themselves fast tracked into box humping or burger flipping at lower than the USA $ minimum wage with no way out due to collection & capture + enforcement into the sector by the UK welfare state. This was; a: devastating for the graduate concerned. b: devastating for the graduate economy. b: devastating for the education & skills base of all the companies running under the USA self regulation model introduced by Mr Blair/bush in 1997. Under those regulations your 1st remotely engineering based job after graduation would be working out how low to put the cook temperatures to save on the gas bill without getting your part time fryer company sued for health & safety breaches and you dumped out on your ass with no further job prospects due to bad references from the company. Bit of a comedown from an engineering professional post isnt it? Personally I definitely believe that virtue comes with a policy change to add the guidelines, ie. Arnie is correct in this case & the Bush Cheney & Blair regime dead flat wrong. Have a nice day: Ag

Let them run their program with a no-change input, then run their same program with their proposed change plugged in and demonstrate the change in outcome. If their program demonstrates a significant improvement to justiofy the costs, then take a shot. As I understand, Most of the proposed changes are cosmetic, with little real change in the end. AS for putdowns, some of my work is with sewer treatment.

Arnie is the same as Reagan; he only believed things that he saw on the movie screen. Now the Hollywood people have seen Al's movie, they KNOW it is true. And if Di Caprio agrees, it MUST be true. After all, "Titanic" was historically correct, wasn't it?
